Meet Gayatri Raghavan of Designz by Raga in Frisco

Gayatri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Launched Designz by Raga in 2018 with the mission of providing luxurious, unique and contemporary resort wear and accessories to the women of today. Having traveled across the world and living in multiple countries, I developed a sense of the styling tastes and needs of women across the globe. I am a designer at heart and that global experience shaped my design mind further. That inspired me to create something very attractive which will appeal to women of all categories, of all age groups. More importantly, resort wear product category has brands that offer products at an unreasonably high cost. My approach is to provide great products with excellent quality at a very affordable price. The journey so far has been fulfilling, we have received outstanding reviews from our customer base and am inspired to create more and more designs.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As I mentioned earlier, the journey so far has been fulfilling, have received great responses and of course, I have learned quite a few things along the way. Like in any business, customers teach you a lot and by talking to them as frequently as I can, I get a sense of the emerging tastes and feature needs. In terms of challenges I have encountered so far – getting my creations to more and more prospects is the biggest challenge so far. Being an exclusive company, it needs a lot of leg work to get our creations in front of more potential customers in a short period of time. We have learned a thing or two from that perspective and in the coming months, we will work to achieve those goals too.

We specialize in making affordable luxury Resortwear and exclusive jewelry. What sets us apart is our one of kind handmade pieces in which we are unique (only one in each design). Proud of how we can merge both cultures – modern styles with traditional embroidery/ embellishments. Our fabrics are soft and make you feel super feminine.
