Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started when I came across a YouTube video on Tooth Gems and it made me remember how I wanted one when I was fifteen. I looked to see who offered tooth gems here in DFW and no one offered this service. So, I decided to offer Tooth Gems’ service to DFW and be the first official tooth gem business here in DFW. I am a mobile business that travels to convenience my clients and bling their smiles. I have been blinging smiles for the past two and a half years. I consider myself the queen of tooth bling for Dfw
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not in the beginning, I was hoping that my business was going to be popular like it is in California. My struggles were that the trend had not made it to Texas and I received a lot of unnecessary comments on social media when I was marketing.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Texas Tooth Bling – what should we know?
I specialize in blinging smiles. Tooth jewelry is where the tooth Crystal or gold charm is glued using dental adhesive and cured with the dental UV light. It’s temporary and lasts anywhere from 3 to 12 months. It is 100% reversible and doesn’t affect or damaged in an enamel. I am the first Tooth Gem business here in DFW I am known for enhancing and blinging smiles around the DFW area. My work was featured by mainstream media outlets on tooth Jewelry. I reminisce sometimes how I remember when I was fifteen and in Mexico and I saw Tooth Gem for the first time and now to turn into business and to pass the joy and excitement to my clients when they get that sparkle in their mouth. It’s satisfying.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Yes, there are a few that do deserve credit, my cousin Stephen Perez who is also an entrepreneur. When I would get discouraged by comments on social media or have butterflies before a major vendor event, I call him and he pep talks me. He reminds to keep pushing and keep my head up high. What I love about Stephen is there absolutely nothing that can kill his vibe. He’s the best primo ever, and last my husband, Juventino who bought me my tooth gem kit as a birthday gift, he is a big supporter in all that I do and has my back.
