Meet Ren The Third

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ren The Third.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My whole life, I’ve been around music. As a kid, I always enjoyed listening to it. While I was growing up, my family showed me all kinds of music which opened my mind and introduced me to different genres and styles. At first, I was really into classic rock. When I was eight years old, I would be jamming out to Metallica, Black Sabbath, System Of A Down, and Korn. As I got older, I got into old school Hip Hop. It was around middle school when I discovered N.W.A, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Cypress Hill, and Psycho Realm which heavily influenced me to want to try pursuing rap music.

It started back in 2015 when me and some friends got inspired and decided to give music a try. We created our own group based out of Oak Cliff Dallas, calling ourselves “O.C.C” (Oak Cliff Clique). Unfortunately, my vision for O.C.C didn’t go as planned. We became a solid group of five, and everything was going pretty good during the year of 2018—my senior year, but by the end of it, O.C.C. started going downhill. One by one the members left and I couldn’t do much bout it. It was up until 2019 when I officially considered myself a solo artist. Since then, I’ve dropped singles such as “Pe$os” “Mission” and “Mind Games” along with my latest project, “FadeToBlack”.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I had to face many challenges to get to where I am today. Growing up as the quiet kid in the classroom, it was very hard for me to be open about being an artist. I had to deal with depression, being insecure about myself, and a lot of other things. The main thing that’s been a challenge for me is being able to be myself in front of a judgment crowd. At first, I was really nervous about performing and I didn’t know if this was what I really wanted to do with my life, but over time I’ve learned that no matter what you do, people will always judge you for who you are and what you want to do in life. But at the end of the day, it shouldn’t matter what people think because as long as you’re happy with what you do, then to me that means you’re already winning.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
My business is creating music to express myself and the way I feel about things whether people like it or not. I make music just for me, it’s kinda like therapy in a way. Most people know me by my music and my performances, and people seem to enjoy seeing me on stage. I love every reaction I get from a crowd I’m in front of. I’m really proud of myself and how far I’ve come, and I’m also very thankful to have amazing fans and people who support me no matter what I do. I know I have true supporters by my side and I love every single one of them.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In the future, I would like to see myself hopefully still having the same passion for creating music, along with collaborating with many other artists. I also hope to see myself touring around the world and performing in front of hundreds of people while having a strong fan base. It’s my dream, and I hope one day, it becomes my reality.
