Today we’d like to introduce you to Oscar Perales.
So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I personally like to think my journey started 29 years ago when my parents brought me to this great nation at three years old. We started off living in one BR apt with three families and were eventually invited to stay at my father’s employer’s tiny 600 sqft guest house next to their 10,000 sq ft home. That’s were my passion and drive were firstborn. Now, an American Citizen I’m also a proud immigrant of my hometown of Jalpilla, GTO, Mexico. 45 minutes south of San Miguel Allende, which was named the #1 city in the World several years ago. Let’s see, Gozova. I never thought I’d be involved in any kind of tech company, only business experience I had was owning a construction company that built custom outdoor kitchens, living spaces and some commercial work. It was early spring of 2017, Goran my now business partner had just started Gozova and was looking for guys with a truck to help out. His wife whom I met while working at a cell phone company introduced us to each other. After meeting him, hearing his journey and realizing he had a background similar to mine. I agreed to help, but also I mean who doesn’t like extra cash?
2018, I decided to slow down my work in construction and focus on Gozova with Goran. I felt like it would be a better ROI on my time and future. It hasn’t disappointed. The progress we’ve made from when we started has been an amazing ride and what we have in store is what dreams are made of. By no means, have we made it yet but as a man who comes from a very small town in the middle of the mountains, I’m here to take advantage of what others take for granted.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wish I could say the road is smooth as can be but that’d be a lie. There is not one thing, in particular, I can point out but I can say that every day we face challenges. Some good, some scary but it’s never something we haven’t been able to handle. You can’t beat a man who’s not willing to quit. My father taught me that.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Gozova – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Gozova is a tech company here to disrupt the logistics industry but our biggest emphasis is customer service and solving the last-mile delivery issues that haven’t been solved. We really work with customers from start to finish. We are known for simplifying buying a bigger object and not having to worry about how you will get it home. Through our state of the art app, you as the consumer have full control of when and where you want things done.
We are most proud when we see that we have repeat business and our new customers are 60% referrals, I think that is every business’s dream. Having VC firms and Investors reach out and set up meetings for Q4 is also something that gets us extremely excited and proud of! What sets us apart is that we go the extra mile, you can reach us at any time and we will reply very quickly and we go above and beyond to make sure your Gozova experience is top-notch!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The future is bright, we just brought on a new COO to handle our expansion into bigger markets and overview day to day operations. Currently, our plans are to continue to solidify our presence in the DFW area and then go from there.
