Thanks for sharing your story with us Mallory. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We spent 4 years in California and when we moved back, we found that a self serve dog wash would really make a difference in our community. We were able to open in April and the positive feedback has been overwhelming!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
First it was finding the location. That in itself took 7 months. It was an as is lease, which meant a lot of work to a building which most likely had never had a certificate of occupancy. Our February opening turned to April, as we also realized sub contractors to do all the work over a consistent amount of days… a 4 day job turned into a 4 week job.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Bruno’s Place DIY Dogwash – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a self serve or DIY dog wash. Which means we provide everything you need to bath your dog and we do all the clean-up!! We use a company called Earth bath for our shampoo and conditioning products and are very eco-friendly when it comes to running the business. We run on wind energy and use a tankless water heater.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Don’t want to get ahead of myself, but we’ve already started discussing a Bruno’s Place two… taking it day by day and having a lot of fun!
