Meet Jean-Hugues Romain of JHR Interior Design in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jean-Hugues Romain.

Jean-Hugues, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a french interior designer, living and working in Dallas, TX. Before coming to Dallas, I was located in Paris, France where I had my own interior architecture and design company. Three years ago, I dropped everything to follow my wife’s dream to work in the USA.

JHR INTERIOR DESIGN company now works all over the U.S as well as in France. I’ve worked for private residences in Southlake, University Park, Dallas, as well as multifamily for companies like JPM, CBRE, TCR, and much more. My work focuses on staging, renovation, interior design services to homeowners and realtors all over the world.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were multiple challenges at the beginning. The main one was to start over and build a new portfolio, here in the US. I had to prove myself to my new clients and show them that I could do a great job and offer something new to them! I always go above and beyond for my clients to make sure they are satisfied.

JHR Interior Design – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
There is a lot of interior designers here in Dallas and they are very creative and talented. What sets me apart is my French/ European style. I provide a good balance between Modern and Contemporary and can adjust my style very easily with what my clients want. I bring a different vision that make each of my project unique like the latest luxury house I just finished in Southlake, TX.  The other thing that set me apart is that I can work anywhere in the world, from a beautiful Parisian apartment to a villa in Miami, or a house in Highland Park, no matter the location or the style, from contemporary modern to classic chic or farm design.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment was this summer when I was finally able to visit and stay at L’Anderenis Hotel. I completely designed this hotel near Bordeaux, France and it finally opened last summer. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel located at Andernos Les Bains, in France. Every single room is completely unique! It was my first Luxury Hotel and it’s gorgeous! I also just started working on a new project in Paris, France. I’m designing 20 apartments located in Champs Elysees that will be available in the near future for vacation rentals.
