Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Marshall.
Adrienne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated high school when I was 16 and moved to Dallas for a modeling career. I started taking Pure Barre to stay lean and toned for the work I was doing. After being a client for about six months, I decided to start teaching for Pure Barre on days that I wasn’t on set. I immediately fell in love with it. I realized my I was far more passionate about the fitness industry than I ever was about fashion and I wanted to do fitness full time. I pursued my NASM Personal Trainers Certificate and tried all different types of exercise. I realized after exploring almost every fitness concept available in the DFW area that nothing compared to Pure Barre. In 2018, I started to pursue ownership of my own Pure Barre location. In 2019 at 19 years old, I became the youngest sole owner of a Pure Barre location ever. It has been the most challenging and rewarding experience. I fell in love with Pure Barre Richardson because of our amazing team of staff, clients, and because of the workout itself. I want to continue to bring that culture and experience to as many people as possible. Pure Barre is so much more than just a 50 minute workout. It really is about bringing woman together. I want it to be a place that people come to find community, encourage one another and be loved.
Has it been a smooth road?
I was a transfer owner. My studio was an established business with a client base that was there long before me. Walking into a studio with clients and staff that were loyal to someone else was incredibly nerve-wracking. I had no idea if they would like or accept me as an owner, or if the staff would accept me as a boss. I have been so fortunate that everyone has been nothing but welcoming, gracious, and patient as I took on this new role. Starting in any new position has its challenges. I’ve only been able to successfully navigate what is it to be an owner because of others that came before me. My team is incredible. I have been abundantly blessed with the opportunity to lead them and I strive to make serving them one of my top priorities.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Pure Barre Richardson story. Tell us more about the business.
Pure Barre is the original “barre” workout. Barre uses small ranges of motion and isometric holds to burn out single muscle groups one at a time. Over the course of 50 minutes, it challenges the entire body as it builds lean and toned muscle and burns fat. Pure Barre is a proven method that provides incredible results. Aside from the effective workout Pure Barre Richardson is about community. Our biggest goal is that each person leaves feeling better than when they came in. More confident, less stressed, less alone in their struggles and empowered to take on all the things going on outside of the studio. I as an owner, want to take care of my clients like they are my family. My staff and I are present and aware of our clients’ goals, needs, and wants so that we can better serve them whatever that may look like.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The boutique fitness industry has exploded over the last five years and isn’t showing signs of slowing down. With new fitness concepts and products launching daily, I am proud to be involved with a company that has been around since the early 2000s. Pure Barre has stood the test of time and continued to grow year over year.
