Today we’d like to introduce you to Fred Fields.
Fred, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It was couple weeks before my first scrimmage of my last season as a college athlete. I was searching the web for cleats that had my team colors until I discovered it was rare to find many cleats exactly how I wanted them. I instantly did some research and found out it was possible to customize cleats. I finished my first pair and posted it all over my social media’s and from there, it had begun. I was contacted by a high school football player in Canada who then became my first customer. From there, I learned how to take orders, ship, and grow a business.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
That answer is simple. No.
If it was smooth, everyone would be able to do it successfully.
Some struggles include maintaining enough product to Always be ready to attack a custom. Change is always a struggle with customizing. Adapting, exposure and satisfaction are a few of the everyday struggles it comes with.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Finally Famous Customs – what should we know?
I provide custom art for anyone interested. I specialize in shoes and cleats. However, I provide custom work on:
Dad Hats
Jean Attire
Canvases
And I also do body paintings.
I am most proud of my growth. What sets me apart from others is the quality of my work with the quick turnaround time. I am a one-man wrecking crew. I do all the behind the scene work you normally don’t hear about. I try to make each project my new favorite.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Personally, success is the improvement of the past. Anything I’m able to do in order to better myself at my craft or life in general, that counts as success to me. The journey has definitely had its ups and downs but I’ve stuck around and I’m ready for what will come next.
