Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Martell.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Mary. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My whole life I have been on a quest to change the way I felt. I didn’t realize I was living a life that caused me to feel that way. It seemed I would gain insight into a small section of my feelings and that would help me survive in a way I thought normal.
I never realized how old records replay in our minds until the day I had my first hypnotherapy session for weight loss. The records I discovered playing in my head were saying that I was not supposed to lose weight; I am older now, and older people are heavier because their metabolism slows down.
At that moment, I realized what I had always heard didn’t make it true, and I began losing weight. I also realized the concept of old records playing in my mind applied to all the other things going on in my life. Hypnotherapy helped me discover the reasons for the old records. I saw that the issues in my life could be changed. Instead of the records controlling me, I could control them. My life could be made better, more productive.
This new awareness led me to take private hypnotherapy lessons, later joining the American Council of Hypnotists. I also went on to study under Gil Boyne, master hypnotist and developer of transforming hypnotherapy. I continue to study every day.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
If there are any obstacles it would be the misunderstanding of hypnotherapy. People are so used to seeing Hypnosis as stage Hypnosis.
Onstage, people are told what to do and how to act or perform. It is nothing like what we do in our profession of transformation hypnotherapy.
I help people change negative feelings and find out where the seed of the problem began. A client will begin to understand how the problem started, and why they feel and act the way they do in order to make the necessary changes. They now have a choice to change their behavior to what they want.
Another area could be religion because some people believe it’s against God. I believe that God gave you all these gifts. When children are born they are fearless, confident, enjoy life and they love unconditionally. As we grow, we are changed by our experiences based on what we see, what we hear, and what we are told. Those experiences make us into who we are and what we become as adults. As we work on our issues we begin to feel free again. We can feel calm, peace, confident, joyful and so much more. As for me, I have experienced so much confidence and peace while working on my own transformation.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mary Martell – what should we know?
My business is Transformation Hypnotherapy. I am a Clinical Certified Hypnotherapist. In my practice, I specialize in emotional issues that affect my clients. I feel strongly that hypnotherapy offers the best avenue to meet the needs of my clients. This approach allows a client to change the feelings and obstacles keeping him/her from moving forward. Changes occur in a fraction of time. The issues that makes us who we are were created in the subconscious mind. So the only way to have permanent changes is to go to the subconscious mind, which is the feeling part of the mind.
I feel most proud of experiencing the transformation of my clients. I can see a difference in the way they look and act. When they return they can tell difference in the way they feel and think.
What sets me apart from others is that I have worked on myself through hypnotherapy with my mentor. So I know what a client is feeling and going through. I know both sides, as a client and is it hypnotherapist.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
There are many teachers, mentors and clients who have impacted and encouraged my journey. My mentors and inspirations include: Gil Boyne, John Butler, Randall Churchhill, Cheryl Canfield and Shawn Mash. I have learned so much from each of my clients. I am inspired and encouraged by their success and change.
