Today we’d like to introduce you to Vina Vo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Vina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my food page back in 2016 as a place to store my excess photos of food when I go out. What began as a simple storage space became a hobby for me. I love exploring different food places from breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts! I believe food can bring people together as it is a necessity to everyday life. I started capturing more and more places over time as well as improved in my editing skills. I figure why not make it an actual blog by uploading content that I know others may enjoy. I did not realize food blogging was so popular until I started following other influencers. Not only do I get to explore my photography interest I get to capture what I love most.
Has it been a smooth road?
Using a social media platform always comes with a few cons. I would say it has been a smooth road for me, but sometimes the comparison of my work to other influencers provides me a setback. I feel like every influencer may have this problem as social media becomes bigger. Although that is the case, I enjoy what I do and being passion-driven makes it less of a competition and more of an adventure and a way to connect with others within the community.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I have made my food blog a place for others to gain insight on where to eat in variety of places. I hope to one day travel to more places and capture those moments as well. I not only focus on capturing food but incorporate surroundings and my captions give an insight on my opinion of the place I visit. I allow myself to give honest reviews for my audience to gain a better insight. I am proud of how far I’ve come with capturing details of the certain food and remembering prices and what the menu items are.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
DFW area is slowly growing but definitely catching up with major cities with the introduction of different culture of foods. From the Carrolton area having a wide selection of Korean bites such as Korean hot dogs, to Dallas with various late night snacks! I think being a food blogger here can be quite interesting with the emergence of new places because you can really see the growth of the area. If someone was starting out, I would recommend finding what attracts you towards this direction.
