Meet Barry Hairston of Barry B aka TheStarsBarber in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barry Hairston.

Barry, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been cutting hair since I was 16. I’m from Akron, Oh. I would have to say that I was always interested in Barbering. I went to barber school at 20 years old after I failed a college, and it was a great experience. By 23 I had opened up my own barbershop I had that for five years and I went through a divorce At time, so my sister who lived in Atlanta gave me the idea to move to Atlanta, try something new. The best decision I ever made. So during this time Facebook had just came out, I private message every celebrity there, and Quinnes Parker was the 1st person to respond. So it all basically started with him. Before you know it I was at recording studios, Video Shoots cutting hair. And it was during one of those times of cutting hair at the studio is where I met my wife, we starting dating I moved to Dallas, TX and the rest is history.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a great journey, it was a time where I was literally was sleeping in my car flat out homeless. Moving to different states where you know no one is always a challenge. It’s never an “easy” thing but it is truly rewarding if you can hang in there. Me personally I believe in myself I knew I had what it takes to become successful.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Barry B aka TheStarsBarber – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a A ListBarber/ Groomer. I’m know for My professionalism and precision. I cut a lot of athletes, various celebrities. I try to provide my valued customers with great service, a great atmosphere, and the appreciation that if were not for them there will be no me. I basically always pretend I’m the customer.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to keep growing. I’m currently a Social Media ambassador for Schedulicity. Part of the “Barber Council “ with Gillette. So I will be at BarberCon Austin, TX – LA- New York. June I will be headed to London to work the BarberConnect Show with Barber Evo. I plan to maybe one establish scholarships for people wanting to go to Barber school that don’t have the financial means. And get more into the mentoring side of the business.
