Meet Justin L. Clark of Eagle Retirement Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin L. Clark.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2006 I joined my mother in business after spending a few years in the mortgage industry. She had been a financial planner for over 20 years at that point and was beginning to struggle with the technology of our industry. The pace of change and technological advancement was something she was not interested in but needed to succeed. I was initially skeptical about being able to form a working relationship with my mother but soon realized that we were able to complement our strengths and weaknesses very well. I was new to the industry but had a much better grasp on technology while her vast experience was not something that could be replaced or replicated. I was and am very fortunate to be in business with her.

We started Eagle Retirement Group in 2009 after combining practices and seeing a greater need for a conglomerate of skills and personalities to better serve our clients. Expanding our practice meant learning from other advisors and implementing a more process based approach to business in order to keep client service at the highest level. We have now grown to an office of 5 advisors and are continuing to seek new professionals to join our group.

Providing investment and retirement planning has always been something I enjoyed because I get to spend time with the technical aspect of investing along with building client relationships and helping people achieve their financial goals. There is no better feeling than having our clients succeed.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not always been easy and we have had many hurdles along the way. Our industry is changing rapidly with new technology and regulations so making education a priority is key to success. We have our normal disagreements about the business management side as well as discussions about how to best serve our clients. These internal struggles lead to a well thought out approach involving as many options as possible for our clients.

Our two main obstacles are implementing new technology and complying with industry regulations that increase our operating costs along with time spent making necessary upgrades and improvements to our process.

Eagle Retirement Group is a full-service wealth management firm that provides insurance, investment and planning services for small businesses, their owners, family and employees. We specialize in retirement planning for our clients that includes asset accumulation, retirement plan implementation for businesses, income projections and generational transfers of wealth. Utilizing asset protection and estate planning through a process driven approach allows us to provide the services our clients need with an individualized, customized plan.

We provide a customized plan to each of our clients based on the services they want and desire. Upfront fee disclosure and full transparency are very important to us as advisors and we strive to answer all client questions and concerns to help us provide a more complete service.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Dallas and the surrounding areas are an incredible place to provide planning services due to the great amount of small business opportunities. Dallas has a very bright future and great entrepreneurial spirit, the greatest improvements to our city will be to accelerate infrastructure growth and maintenance to keep pace with growth.
