Meet Jeremy Williams of Quality Casual Supply Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Williams.

Jeremy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in Baton Rouge, LA and moved to Dallas, TX as a baby and then back to Baton Rouge as a fourth-grader. I graduated high school in Baton Rouge and went on to Texas Southern University, where I graduated with a degree in Electronics Engineering in 2008. I worked as an engineer for ten years after college in Liberty, TX, Vernal, UT, and Lake Charles, La. I’ve been living back in Dallas for the last two years now and love the city. I grew up playing sports, baseball being my favorite and have always had a love for baseball hats going back to my childhood. In addition to my love for baseball hats, I’ve also had a thing for fashion in general.

One of my favorite sayings is from Deion Sanders and it’s “When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you perform good, and when you perform good, you get paid good.” I find that to be very true and it all starts with looking good. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve wanted to own my own business. One day I was walking through the mall talking to my wife and I told her that I wanted a casual baseball hat that would go well with my casual style outfits that I wear most of the time.

I went into some hat stores but couldn’t find any that I liked and a light bulb went on in my head. I’m going to start a hat company selling casual style baseball hats. I found this to be a perfect way to mesh my desire to start a business with my zeal for fashion. I did some research, put together a business plan, started working with a manufacturer and launched Quality Casual Supply Co.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been the smoothest of roads getting everything to go how I want it to go. One of the struggles has been the shipments of my merchandise. I’ve had three shipments of my hats in a row get shipped to the wrong address and had to file claims three different times. It’s been a headache because we have customers requesting a certain hat and we can’t get it to them due to shipments not getting to my company, so it’s hard to keep putting customers on hold.

Quality Casual Supply Co. – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Quality Casual Hat Co. is an apparel company that sells quality style baseball hats. We have neutral colors that are designed to be worn with any casual style outfit. In 2021, I’ve expanded to sell men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes as well as accessories. What I’m most proud of as a company is that it is my first company. There’s gratification in building something from the ground up for the first time. What sets us apart from others is the design of our hats. There’s nothing like them on the market. They are suede with belt buckle strap in the back for adjusting with a brim that can be worn flat or curved to your liking. 

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, the one thing that I would have done differently is had my hats sent to a freight shipping location instead of directly to me. I think that would have mitigated the shipments that were shipped to the wrong address.
