Meet Francisco Gomez Palacio VI of Integrated Home Improvement

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francisco Gomez Palacio VI.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Francisco. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Dallas, TX. In 2011, my parents asked me to paint their fence. As I did so, I found a sense of fulfillment in the process and gratification in seeing the final product.

After painting a few neighbors’ fences, I teamed up with a local professional and went door to door, looking for fences that looked like they needed some love, negotiating a price and closing deals in the process. Angel Fish Home Services was born.

I went to college in California and thought very little about fences again for six years. Although I wrote my college essays on Angel Fish, it was never something I considered as my long-term profession. Then, at 25, I found myself back in Dallas studying for the GMAT. As I told my girlfriend about the fences, she asked, “Why not try that model again?” As soon as she said that, it felt right. The next day, I took the first steps towards making it a real business.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been smooth as far as entrepreneurial roads go, which skew rocky. No, it has not been totally smooth, but I’ve enjoyed the challenges. I had to begin seeing every obstacle as an opportunity to learn and then implement the knowledge in a practical way. My biggest challenge so far has been adapting to different personalities and skillsets when recruiting and working with people.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We want the client to feel safe and confident that when they have a home improvement need, from fence construction to full home remodels, Integrated will carry out superior customer service from start to finish. It’s really all about the client and making their life easier throughout the full-cycle that they live in their home in what’s too often experienced as an unpredictable and tedious, but necessary process for homeowners

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Dallas, TX, is the best city in the world. I mean that. From a booming economy to everyone and their mother’s dog moving here from California, I love it here. There’s an exceptional quality of life in Dallas. Beyond that, I do think home improvement is a field that has yet to be tapped to its full potential.
