Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Staff.
Lisa Staff has been photographing fashion and people from all walks of life for over 20 years. She heads one of the most sought-after photography studios in the Carolinas and photographs Design, Weddings, and Fashion in Hilton Head, SC. She is also an internationally featured wedding photographer in publications in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. A Canadian transplant to Hilton Head, she now loves calling the Lowcountry her home.
In addition to running Lisa Staff Photography, Lisa is currently the acting photography director and Instagram Strategist for the upscale boutique magazine Local Life-based in Hilton Head, SC. And is the co-owner of Sprout Connectors, a digital marketing agency.
Her prior experience also includes Brand Management Strategist for Himalaya, builders of bespoke Land rovers, an international custom design shop, as well as small business consulting.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A few of the struggles would include not only moving from Canada to the States but more recently rebranding myself as an individual after coming out of a divorce in my 50’s and starting the business over in my name after having it in my former husband’s name. Lesson learned.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Lisa Staff Photography – what should we know?
I’m a 50-year old single mother of four young adults, influencer, community connector and serial entrepreneur. I’ve spent the last 20 years creating a life well-lived locally and destinations abroad. I am the proud owner of a thriving digital media studio in the Carolinas and am the director of photography for an upscale socialite magazine.
I find passion in the pursuit of traveling the globe documenting my experiences along the way as well as connecting with my community creating fashionable content and empowering a life well-lived.
I am a connector and micro-influencer. I have the ability to capture people that run the gamut from Condoleezza Rice and Dr. Sanjay Gupta to local entrepreneurs that are making a difference in their community. From fashion to family. From travel to design.
And use these connections and relationships to add to the podcast that I co-host through Sprout Connectors with Deevo of Fusion Photography as well as share our skills through workshops and speaking engagements.
I am enthusiastic about relationships with people that are making a difference and bringing them to the light. It’s all about connecting and collaborating.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I have an eye for detail in all things… perhaps leaning on the side of OCD and have discovered that with age comes a comfort that puts other people at ease. This makes all of the difference and allows walls to come down and creativity to flow. Ego is taken out of the equation.
