Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany AKA Yūko Moon.
Brittany, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far
I started my first business back in 2015. I was baking and making chocolate covered strawberries. One day I decided to take some treats to work and I made more money in one day than I did my actually check. I quit and started baking full time. I was baking for all types of events from birthdays to grand opening even getting a place on the wedding planning website The Knot. Shortly after, I ended up moving to Colorado Springs, where I would begin my journey in the hair industry. At the time, I was going to the mall and I had just dyed my hair green. I walked past this hair salon and this woman stopped me and asked me who dyed my hair. From there, I ended up getting offered a job and I worked at the front end of the salon. Because I was not licensed, I was unable to do hair during the mall hours. However, I was able to do the client’s hair before and after. So eventually, my actual job was to work at the front desk as well as the sale and stock hair extensions. This experience changed my life. I began to learn so much about the business side of the hair industries such as vendors, start-up costs, hair grade, how to make a profit etc. To me, it was a perfect fit lol. I always had my hair done and I had a little clout behind my name due to my making music and having dj friends. Eventually, I decided to move back to Dallas, where I would now start my own hair company. In 2018 Pure Luxe Hair Co. was created. Now, this was one crazy journey filled with ups and many downs. When I started this company, it was tough for me to get it off the ground. One thing that I struggled with the most was standing out and posting on social media lol. I slowly introduced wigs and my business took off. Fast forward to March 2019. Everything in my life has taken off. I decided to follow my dreams and got back to the music, thus birthing Yuko Moon. Music has always been a major part of my life. Both my parents are very seasoned musicians. My mom was in orchestra and plays bass guitar, violin, and electric guitar.
My dad also plays keyboard, electric guitar and can sing his butt off lol. My intro to music came from my dad. He used to play Michael Jackson, Morris Day and the time, Sting, Prince and so many more dope artists. One of my favorite memories I have is dancing in the room with my dad and my sisters singing Morris Day” BAND YES! AND BODY HOT? NO? YOU KNOW WHY?? WHY CAUSE I’M SO COOL COOL! Lol omg. Back to me, so this point in my life, I an moving along in my spiritual journey and starting to establish my own identity and purpose for being on this earth. I opened my third business, THE SACRED MOON! So far in my journey, I’ve learned so many things and have helped so many people through my lessons. My goal was to teach people the true power of manifestation, chakra balancing, meditation, self-love and care, alternative healing through crystals, bath salts, candles and rituals/prayers. Since this was a time of transformation and a new beginning, I also decided to loc my hair! Shortly after, I stared nail school and developed my nail brand NAILED BY YUKO. As of this month, I started my fourth business Sacred Jata, which is my locs styling services. I have always been called the jack of all trades, it’s is just in me! I love the hustle and waking up every day doing what I love.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh, wow not at all. For example, I started out selling hair and I was doing what I was all these other girls doing. In all honesty, it set me back and put a cap on my creativity. I lost my passion for it and chose to no longer sell hair. I think my biggest problem was fear. I used to be scared that I would fail and that kept me from exploring boundaries and reaching my full potential. Another struggle would probably be me being a one person army. I started all my businesses my self, I footed the bill and did the research lol. So with that being said managing motherhood, school full time, four active businesses, and social life get pretty hectic, but as I said, I’m built for this.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

The SACRED MOON: I’m sure I’m not the first person to say “the journey has been real” lol I’ve learned so many things about this world, life, and myself. My goal is to share the knowledge I have gained with the world and to assist those who also have the desire to become conscious, and who have the courage to be the change they want to see in the world. My outlook on crystals & energy. Humans vibrate, and we also have energy is where crystals and humans intersect due to the fact, we are human. We are often emotionally unstable. Because of this real” lol I’ve learned so many things about this world, life, and myself my goal is to share the knowledge I have gained with the world and to assist those who also have the desire to become conscious, and who have the courage to be the change they want to see in the world…My outlook on crystals & energy: humans vibrate, and we also have energy is where crystals and humans intersect due, to the fact, we are human. We are often emotionally unstable. Because of this, we experience a rise and fall of our vibrations now, this is where your grab those crystals and hold them close. You see crystal vibrate higher than humans, and they vibrate at a consistent rate with that being said the crystal will raise the vibration, also aid you in healing and reaching your goals. Lastly, if you want to understand this world think of it as simply energy, frequencies, and vibrations. Honestly what sets me apart from everyone is that I completely myself lol…I no longer worry about anyone else’s opinion. I’m too busy creating my wave.
My favorite accomplishment is when one of my customers called me in tears of joy because a month prior, she tried to kill herself, but she had been seeing my post about healing from emotional trauma using crystals. She started practicing the methods I was suggesting and overcame her suicidal thoughts. Another one of my favorite accomplishments is doing a photo shoot with DJ Duffy where her and her artist modeled my hair.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am looking forward to expanding my store and starting my apothecary. I would also like to have a nice building for my hair clients and crystals.
