Thanks for sharing your story with us Michelle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started out apprenticing for the amazing healthy hair specialist, Kimberly Williams, for over four years before I decided to branch off on my own. Fresh out of Beauty School and unsure of what I wanted to do, Kim took me under her wing and taught me pretty much everything I know about being an entrepreneur. She drilled me with customer service and meeting sales goals, and reminded me to stay current and up-to-date by enrolling in classes, seminars, and various hair/cosmetic shows. Most importantly, she held me accountable spiritually and impacted my work ethic so much that I honestly really wouldn’t be where I am today without her.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nope, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I was pretty arrogant and impatient at first. I thought I knew everything. I didn’t make rational financial decisions early on in my career and it cost me later. The money came quick and I spent it quicker.
Please tell us about your practice.
I am a Licensed Cosmetologist and I specialize in Individual Eyelash Extensions. I am known for my natural looks, but don’t get it twisted- I can throw down on Mega Volume. I push myself for the best customer service and quality work for your dollar, and my lashes, with proper maintenance, can last up to 3-weeks.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
When I joined the Downtown Glow-Up Family. I recently teamed up with two of Dallas’ hottest body make-up/spray tanning artists and waxing specialist. We’re collaborating in the perfect one stop shop in Downtown Dallas.
