Meet Drew Myers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Myers.

Drew, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was introduced to real estate at 16. I was an office assistant for a broker in Duncanville. Mr. Ken Medlock was someone I could and still do look up to. As I was working for him, he encouraged me to get my real estate license to have in my pocket. His reason was to buy my first house and use the commission to buy a fridge! In my heart, my dream was to be a sneaker designer. I had my entire life planned about moving to Portland and working for Nike. With everything centered around that dream, I had the idea of becoming a real estate agent and using the money to pay for college. In the midst of all this, I fell in love with real estate. It took me three times to pass the test but eventually, I did. That was my first taste of glory and I was addicted! Humbly, I joined a different brokerage than the one I grew up with. Keller-Williams is training based and being young and somewhat new to the industry. I surely needed the training. As I was busy taking as many classes as humanly possible, the business was slow for the first couple of months and then it changed for the better. In October 2019, I was introduced to real estate investing by the Todd brothers and my mind was completely blown away. As of now, business is finally starting to take off and I’m more knowledgeable about real estate investing and real estate as a whole. I hope to educate and help as many people as possible achieve their real estate goals!

Has it been a smooth road?
It took me one year of failing to test to pass finally. I gave on my fourth (and final) try! Finding my niche was a challenge as well but that all comes with time.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I consult people with all of their real estate needs. I will walk them through the process of financing, purchasing the home, moving in, settling down, and afterward, if they’re interested in investing in real estate. Real estate is a very broad industry. Look around. It’s everywhere. There’s a lot you can learn. And I think that’s what sets me apart from everyone else. I’m interested in all the aspects of real estate not just residential. Not just fighting dream homes. Being an expert is great but I think having diversified skills can help more people in the long run.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely! Real estate is like that Hannah Montana song, “Life’s what you make it” You can dominate any city or metroplex that you want to. Honesty will always be the best for a long career. Treat everyone with respect and you’ll be just fine.
