Sunnie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been a tech junkie since I was a kid! Anytime a new software is released, I’m always ready to jump right into it to learn how to utilize it. Last year around May 2019, I had the bright idea to start a freelance web and graphic design and development business. It was a random thought that I acted on instantly. My main thought was, you have amazing skills so why not show others by helping them design and develop an amazing online presence!
I didn’t know the first thing about running a business and overtime. I can say that it is an ever evolving experience. Demands change, and so do our businesses to accommodate our audience! Today, I am still building my dream business and it takes time! I am collaborating on projects, gaining an authentic reach to my future clients and creating a brand of trust.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been an extremely smooth road! In the first 3-4 months, I stopped working altogether in my business. I got a new job in the tech industry and started contemplating if I needed to have a business and a full-time job. My main concern was being able to juggle both. January 2020 came around and my mindset changed from focusing on what I thought I couldn’t do and just simply did it whether it worked or not didn’t matter. What mattered most was the level of effort put forth to just try!
I don’t work seven days a week, 24 hours a day in my business. Sometimes I hold that against myself, but the best way to get anything done is by resting! My goal isn’t to make a million dollars in a year. My goal is to work for myself full-time with a good work/life balance and discipline to work remotely from anywhere! Continuing to persevere is a challenge, but in the end I know it’s going to be worth it. The biggest struggle of all in the beginning was trying to be visible to any and anyone, which resulted in selling myself short. Don’t do that! You charge your rate and your worth! Overall, it has gotten better over time because of business process implementations, mindset and learning how to work productively!

Creatively Inspired is a web and graphic design and development freelance business. Located in Dallas, TX but available worldwide! Properly known as Creatively Inspired Design. I specialize in creating graphic designs for logos, business cards, business branding, t-shirts, mugs and more. On the other hand, my other specialty is designing and developing websites that are mobile-friendly as well. I know how important it is to have a website that is compatible with all types of devices in this day and age! I’m known for all of the “tech stuff” according to my current clients! I am most proud of what my business stands for. Creatively Inspired allows business owners to feel a little less worried about their business brand in my hands. I think of it in the aspect of “treat this as your own” and we all know that we treat things we love with care, so I’m proud of that!
The thing that sets me apart is my authenticity and passion. I don’t want just to create a website or graphic bundle and then never talk to a client again. I want to build a good working relationship and help each other win and reach our successes. With Creatively Inspired, you will always get a personal touch and a caring person behind the brand!
