Meet Christie Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christie Williams.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the organization, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Nine years ago, God called me into ministry. I couldn’t believe He could use someone like me. As a survivor of sexual abuse, rape, abortions, suicide attempts and other things, I felt as though I didn’t have an identity or purpose. I was wrong! As a young girl, I grew up in church, I knew of Jesus but I didn’t know Jesus Christ. Everything I went through proved to me that I had religion without a true relationship with Christ. It was when I accepted His love for me that I begin to see He had a wonderful purpose and plan for my life. I learned that my greatest struggle could become my strongest strength to help others. For several years I’ve mentored women, ministered in jails, preached the gospel of the kingdom around the world and seen lives resurrected, hope restored, identity revealed and lives refreshed by the power of Holy Spirit. One of the hardest moments to walk through has been the unexpected death of my husband. Greg and I were married for 32 years. We were best friends. We always knew death was a possibility, but never expected it to happen until we were much older. At the age of 52, I found myself widowed and broken. Greg was such a wonderful husband, father, provider, and friend.

Yet, in the midst of my most hurtful experience, I encountered the love of Jesus in ways that I can’t explain. I started a ministry for widows to feel loved, cherished, and to give us a voice. I relocated from Texarkana, Arkansas to McKinney, Texas because I was led here by God. I have twin daughters that live in the Dallas region, but as much as I love them, this move wasn’t about pleasure, but purpose. I have been to McKinney for two years and I like it. I’m still learning a lot about the area and the people here are amazing. Since moving here my Online Mentoring Community, She Reigns, is expanding and last year we were able to host She Reigns : “Cover Girl” Gatherings in Flordia, Nevada, Louisiana and Texas.

We also host small home gatherings, “Steward The Flame,” where hungry people gather and worship, pray, and hear the word of God and fellowship with a meal afterwards. It was during a at home gathering that Holy Spirit ministered the word “From Poor Me To Pour Me.” That word transformed my life and set me on a prophetic course of greater destiny. Gathering in my living room every Wednesday with my spiritual children we begin to seek God for direction and clarity. We were led to start “The Pour Me Experience” monthly gathering. We are seeing people saved, healed, and delivered. I didn’t know that through the death of my spouse, a greater purpose would be birthed. There’s so much that God has for me and my greatest joy comes as I minister his love, his truth, his compassion, his word to others. I have many dreams, great vision, and I’m filled with expectation. Ministry, Entrepreneurship, Non-Profit Organizations are great desires of my now and my future. I tell myself daily, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 I know I can, I know I will because I was placed in the earth to fulfill the original intent of God and that is to model His glory in the earth by being a witness of and for Christ Jesus.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. Low self esteem, seeking the approval of men, trying to be a people pleaser, allowing rejection to define me instead of accepting the identity from the One who created me held me back a long time.

Please tell us about the organization.
Christie Williams Ministries travels throughout the nations preaching the gospel of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. I am known for speaking truth when it’s not popular to do so, to stand on the word of God and not compromise, and to point people to the Savior. I’m proud that I know my identity and the identification marks of the ministry I’m entrusted with. I’m not trying to build a ministry, I’m to fulfill a mandate. I’m not trying to build a platform, I’m to build people. I’m not trying to sit on a church pew, I’m called to sit and govern tables by building and establishing a community of people. What sets me apart is my willingness to be uncommon in a culture where being common is common.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I’ve loved fashion since I was a little girl. Even then, I was fascinated by Jackie Kennedy Onassis and her style and class. My mom and grandmother would dress me so girly and pretty. When I got a spot on my dress or wasted food on my clothes, I would cry until they changed my outfit. My grandmother would say, “This is my little black Jackie O.”
