Trice, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The core of who I am is being a servant, giver and leader. I have had many experiences to work, create, collaborate, partner and lead in many businesses, non-profit and creative spaces. I guess you could call me a well versed Jill of all trades. My most recent pivot has ignited a passion I didn’t know existed. Although I have always loved the beauty industry and being pampered by beauty professionals; I didn’t know I would eventually become one. Being a licensed mobile nail professional threads all of my passions into one beautiful gift.
Providing full service, in-home nail service experiences allows me to connect and serve women and men from all walks of life. During our time together, I am able to be a listening ear, an encourager, a music enthusiast and even wise counsel when asked. I don’t take it for granted that my VIPs (clients) allow me into their homes, offices and even hotel suites to offer a moment of exclusive pampering without the anxiety of being in today’s climate can bring.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No road or journey of a life fulfilled is ever smooth or easy. However, every bump, hill, valley and mountaintop that I’ve experienced has prepared me for the joy of this moment in time.
Most of my challenges have been working through internal barriers of defeat and fear. Not allowing the guilt and shame of past failures and mistakes to define or prevent me from being successful. However, breaking through feelings of not being adequate or prepared enough for the dreams I had for my life. With prayers and encouragement from my family and close friends, I am more sure now than ever why I was placed on this earth.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about NTS x Trice – what should we know?
A nail enthusiast turned licensed nail professional. At the age of 16, I fell in love with the art and skill of nail services. I didn’t know that my constant desire to have the “perfect nail service experience” would lead me to serving in an industry I have loved for over 20 years.
The VIP Home Experience was conceived out of a desire to provide an option beyond the traditional nail salon. I have cultivated an exclusive, unique in-home nail experience that is curated based on the individual needs and preferences of each client. In my journey of becoming a licensed nail professional, nail health and wellness has become my highest priority. Improving and maintaining the integrity of natural nails is the foundation of each nail service experience. In the short time of serving my community, I’ve realized the need to provide knowledge and products designed to strengthen the health of natural nails.
My signature collection, Butta: Cuticle Conditioner, is the first of many handmade and vegan-friendly products I plan to share with the world. Our special blend of all-natural and vegan ingredients melts into your skin for maximum hydration and growth stimulation. Its intentional packaging design provides a smooth application and convenient storage for all. Our signature product offers three unique scents to satisfy all tastes and preferences.
The NTS x Trice brand prides itself on giving the nail community (consumers and nail professionals) tools to transform and enhance their commitment to healthy nails.

My family (immediate and extended) have been my biggest supporters and cheerleaders. My parents, Dr. A. William & Kathy Staten, equipped me with a strong spiritual foundation that has fortified my faith in God and all that He has equipped me to do. My parents and siblings, Shanelle, A. William, Jr, Sir Edward (Taylor), Chris (Janai), are all accomplished in various sectors of social work, business, finance, education, ministry and community leadership, architecture and design. My beautiful nieces, Violet Rose and Olivia Grace motivate me to be the best version of myself.
My close friends are like my family and they are sound boards for my visions and ideas. I’m grateful to have their advice and wise counsel through the various professional and personal stages of my life. Each of them constantly push me to grow and live out my dream and fulfill purpose.
