My influencer journey started on Facebook. I used Facebook Live as a way to connect with people about domestic violence while teaching them how to do makeup. My segments are called Makeup and Conversation. Through FB my following just grew it allowed women and even some men from all walks of life to have a safe space to tell their story or get advice through my story.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I struggled with how much of my personal life to share. I struggled with hearing stories like mine and not having enough resources to provide the help that I felt was needed for individuals to leave abusive situations. I struggled with criticism from my family and peers for sharing such personal information about my journey. So smooth absolutely not but well worth it.

My business is Real Rita Lynn. I am a Beauty Influencer and YouTuber. I specialize in Lifestyle Fashion and Makeup. I’m known mostly for Makeup and a Conversation lives via Facebook and YouTube. I am most proud of my ability to keep going! No matter the odds or results, I know that I am changing lives one upload at a time and one makeup lives at a time. What sets me apart from others is my ability to be REAL, that’s why I’ve been coined REAL RitaLynn. I talk about the uncomfortable things in life and I’m honest about them I give genuine advice and I’m always authentic.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
For me it’s building a community where women and men can feel safe and not be ashamed or embarrassed about the domestic abuse they survived along with being able to go on National television tell my story as a survivor and not a victim. Working with brands I love has also been amazing.
