Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Aromaye.
Bryan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Stand Strong HomeStays began in December of 2019. Our main focus is providing traveling nurses with affordable, stylish housing accommodations while on contract in Dallas. The goal this year was to have six units by the end of 2020. So far, we’re at 11 units with at least two more coming soon. Our business has been very fortunate throughout this pandemic. We didn’t plan for such success in such a short amount of time, but we’re not complaining either!
Unfortunately, I lost my 17 year old little sister, Jameela Barber, back in April from Covid-19. And almost lost my father to it as well. This is my 3rd of 4 active businesses I manage here in Dallas. My first company is a technology business where I’m the inventor of a patent-pending new technology application for electrical safety called Hot Gloves. My 2nd business, Stand Strong Investments, is a real estate investment company where we purchase a home from homeowners in tight situations. My forth business is a non-profit organization called Blessings Table Foundation. Our vision and focus is creating generational wealth for minorities through the empowerment of financial literacy.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Anything worth having doesn’t come easy. Coming from a broken home and foster care, I’ve had my hardships. Just ten years ago, I was just being released back into society from a five years federal incarceration for weapons possessions and firearms. I hit the ground running as an electrician in Aug of 2010. I obtained my Journeyman license and went on to build electrical systems for hospitals, airports, Movie Theaters, office buildings, hotels, homes, and data centers throughout Texas and Oklahoma until December 2019. That’s when my entrepreneurship and quest to obtain a Legacy began to take the wheel.
Stand Strong HomeStays – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As far as all of my businesses, we’re geared at creating vehicles of quality services for our customers at affordable prices. We seek to be of assistance more so than a business with our customers. At the same time, establishing cash flow generating assets for years to come, thus creating a Legacy for my family as a first-generation Nigerian American.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?\
My proudest moment was obtaining my tax exemption for our 501(c)(3) in four months and being able to teach all the things I’ve learned and still learning about financial literacy to others less fortunate like myself, like myself with hopes to change or break the so-called “Curse” of generations!
