Brooklyn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Brooklyn Carter and I am the CEO of Omnia Palace. I first started my company in order to dive deep into investing my time in things I always loved, which was doing natural hair, wigs, beauty, and fashion. I’ve started in These cities for my Hair company in order to expand my audience: Little Rock, Arkansas, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Fort Worth, Texas; It really started as a mission to mentally cope after I was really lost and a really bad place May 2019 and I didn’t know where to go and what to do in order to make my depression go away.
Me and my family I were displaced in a foreign city with no help and I had to dive myself in what I knew I could do. I started by selling glue-less Wig units, ready to go, in different styles and in different textures at affordable prices. Also, I advertised Lashes, Fur Slides, Makeup Services, and Wig Customizations services. I look forward to expanding my brand and doing more things for my fashion ventures, adding more wig units and discounts to give All my customers who decide to shop with me. I would love to thank all my supporters, my partner and sister Briana, and my mom got all the love!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
A lot of the struggles were definitely learning how to manage to work, going to school, managing omnia palace and my personal life. Also, advertising to a lot of people and trying to decide different products that will help the audience find the right product but at an affordable price. I manage it by always planning ahead of time and writing down all my special business ideas so I can actually bring them to life. Lastly, this last year dealing with covid, finding vendors and getting back on my feet after being displaced! It was very hard but I know it’s going to be all worth the hard work when I make sales and eventually when my career takes off.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the OmniàPalace story. Tell us more about the business.
We are especially known for our wigs, bundles, lace frontals/closures, and fur slides! I am most proud of my consistency and my progress of how my work is getting so much better and I am more knowledgeable about the things I make. I learn more techniques all the time that I can apply to make my business grow even more. I try to appeal to my customers as much as possible and still remain original to me.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I feel like both good and bad luck has played into my business because you win some, you lose some. But in the end, a loss is still a win because at the end of the day, you still learn something that you can apply to the next experience and do better!
