Today we’d like to introduce you to Ro Simmons.
Ro, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I struggled with weight loss in my past. I thought I had to make all the right choices and exercise several hours a day to reach my goal. I quickly learned that everyone’s journey is different. What worked for my life was not the cookie cutter fitness advice. You know nutrition and exercise. Like there is no in between. But there is. I focus on helping the clients live their life and be fit. By learning better eating habits and making fitness part of your everyday life.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There were many times when I showed up to class and there were no clients. I had to build from nothing. Building is a slow process. Especially when you are low on funds. But being consistent and engaging in constant action is what helped grow my business. Also, keeping God first.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Live Your Life Fitness – what should we know?
My fitness business specializes in weight loss. Because I have been there before, I can relate to a lot of the issues my clients have. 90% of my clients stay with me for at least a year. I pray for my clients and speak nothing but positive things to them and about them. What sets me apart, is the fitness incubator approach. I allow others trainers to run their businesses out of my studio as well. Monthly, I have a professional in different areas come to the studio to educate us.
Knowledge expansion is very important. My goal is to help others succeed in their business ventures without having to pay expensive costs. In the future, this model will be done on a larger scale. There will be several trainers, dance instructors, massage therapists and chiropractors under one roof. All working their own business, serving clients, and gaining knowledge without the expensive costs.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
The biggest help has come from my husband, my God appointed assistant, my business coach, business mentor, and have a few supporters that have been there since day one. My husband Jeff, started helping out by keeping the books. He later became CPR Instructor certified and he now runs that branch of the business. My God appointed assistant Karrie, works as if I am paying her a million dollars. My business coach Coretta, and mentor Jim stretch my brain to newest heights that I did not know existed. These people helped change my life as well as my business. I am truly thankful for the time we worked together.
