Hi Silvia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hello! I am Silvia Cisneros the owner of Bella’s Baptism Shop. I started my small business in March of 2020, right before Covid-19 hit and we were all in lockdown. The idea started late 2019 when I was preparing for my youngest daughters Isabella’s Baptism that was coming up in February of 2020 we were on the search for a perfect Baptism Gown and were disappointed when we couldn’t find the perfect one being that the godmother and I had high expectations for a very extra and beautiful gown for her special day we searched for months with no luck till my father traveled to Mexico to visit family. Quickly I had an idea to research someone close to him who sold Gown I quickly came across a vendor who sold beautiful gowns very unique to what can be found around our area I got in touch with them and arranged my father to pick them up.
Fast forward when we received the gown, we were all in love by the beauty of the dress. The day of her baptism, everyone complimented on how beautiful her gown was. I thanked the owner the day after and mention how in love we were with the gown and everyone loved it she then told me she sold wholesale if I was ever interested in starting a business. I thought about it for a few weeks, then I said I am going to go for it what’s the worst that can happen. So I went for it started with one vendor and now we are working with more than five vendors to bring the highest quality and most beautiful gowns to our clients and here we are about one month from our one year anniversary and do not regret it one bit and I am so grateful for all our local and online clients who have bought from us these past months and gave us this opportunity to provide these beautiful handmade gowns.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a rough road but also not smooth. At the time this came to life I had no idea what I was doing. I was also working at the time a corporate job that was mentally draining so I was under a lot of stress being a working mom of three kids plus trying to start of a business. Thankfully with the help of my husband, I was able to manage It all with a lot of headaches but we got through the obstacles and as of October 2020, I left my corporate job to be a full-time Mom and small business owner and everything has been running pretty smooth now.
We’ve been impressed with Bella’s Baptism Shop, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We offer Baptism outfits for both boys and girls but what we are known for is the gowns we provide the highest, most unique gowns we can find and offer them at the most affordable price we can provide for our clients and we are proud to bring this to all our past and future clients who shop with us to know we strive to provide the best quality to our shop.
What are your plans for the future?
Future plans for Bella’s Baptism Shop is to expand in the quantity of the items we have in stock and be able to open our own website and stop our sales from Etsy and the long term, we hope to one day open an upfront store.
