Meet Chad and Heaven Lesher of Escape Hunt Dallas in North Plano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad and Heaven Lesher.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chad & Heaven. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We fell in love with escape rooms when we visited one on a date night in 2016. The concept fed our hunger for competition and fun while giving our brains a good exercise. After trying a few rooms in the DFW area and other parts of the United States, we started to research what it would take to open our own escape room business. After months of studying the market, we entered into an agreement with The Escape Hunt Experience franchise. As the global leader in the themed entertainment industry, it provided us with immediate legitimacy in a market still in its infancy. The Escape Hunt Experience is the world’s largest and most comprehensive escape game operator with branches on every continent. Their corporate team provides us with access to the world’s only Escape Game Technology Design Center along with sales, marketing, quality control and legal compliance support.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have found when starting a business in a new and evolving industry, there are many unknowns. Game rooms have presented challenges in the form of technology reliability and prop design. While some things look good in a schematic design, it can be difficult to create a functional and durable product that endures heavy use. It is a balance to determine installed cost vs. life cycle cost. While some things in the room can be cost effective to save money, many items require a considerable investment in order to deliver a high quality experience for the customer.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Escape Hunt Dallas story. Tell us more about the business.
Our goal is to provide the customer with an authentic experience in a high-end environment. Escape Hunt Dallas operates in an eight room, 5,000 sq. ft. facility. It includes an exquisitely decorated lounge and conference room and is designed to cater to large corporate events and party groups. Our escape room games are created exclusively for DFW and the discriminating consumer.

We pride ourselves on the ability to provide the corporate executive and his/her team an upscale atmosphere for a fun and unique team building experience. We also provide the couples looking for an entertaining evening with friends an exciting option. Furthermore, families seeking entertainment enjoy the camaraderie and rapport siblings’ exhibit when they unite to solve puzzles and decipher clues.
