Ujjwal, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been fascinated by cameras. Even before I knew much about photography, I used to collect all the photography equipment and take just random pictures. This might be one of the reasons I chose photography as my hobby. I was very much into portraits, so to learn more about portrait techniques, I decided to take few photography classes during my final year of college.
As I got deeper into photography, I understood the concept of freedom to use my creativeness. I felt that I could express more through my camera and that’s when I fell in love with photography. I used to take portrait pictures of my friends and family members and they would give me really good compliments. At that time photography was something that I mostly did just for myself, to enhance my creativity. I never thought that I would be a professional photographer. But that one very special day made me realize that I should pursue photography as a professional photographer.
My friend whose pictures I had taken, recommended me to one of her friend who was getting married. Her friend loved my pictures so much that she requested me to cover her entire wedding ceremony. It was a very difficult challenge for me but luckily I was able to cover that wedding very successfully. Gradually I started getting different types of event one after another.
The demand was growing and I saw the need for a team, so I started to build my team. I finally found all my perfect teammates and formed a company in 2016 named AAHA STUDIO. Since then we have been in the business by the name Aaha Studio. Telling stories through photographs.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Everyone faces different challenges while pursuing their goals and so did we. At the very beginning, we struggled in forming a team. It was difficult to find perfect teammates for Aaha Studio but eventually, we solved the problem. Then step by step other problems would come between our goals but we solved them pretty well. All the problems that came in our way made us focused on our goals even more. We believe that struggles, challenges, problems etc. will always be there on our way to success but we have so much faith in our team that we can tackle all of them efficiently.
