Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Johnson.
Brittany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been obsessed with hair for as long as I can remember. My mom can tell you stories of me standing in the mirror before school in 2nd grade doing my own hair. That turned into me doing my friends hair by age 12 and I was able to turn that into my full-time job as an adult.
As I got older and realized the importance of hair care, I started researching natural ingredients that could mix together to keep my hair healthy. I would be in the kitchen mixing and testing all types of concoctions until I found the best combinations that worked for me. Natural Beautiii was born before I even knew was my destiny would be!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I haven’t met an entrepreneur that has had a smooth road. When I decided to start my company, there was a lot of back and forth in my mind. Afraid of people not liking my products, wondering if it was a smart move financially, not being sure if I’d be able to do everything on my own… There was a lot of fear! I had no clue how to make a website, create product labels.
I knew nothing about the business. There was a lot of research and sleepless nights that went into starting my company. I had to teach myself EVERYTHING. It was overwhelming a lot of the times, but the reward was definitely worth it. Believing in myself and my brand was the best decision I could’ve made to get over all of my fears and erase the doubt
Please tell us about Natural Beautiii Hair Care.
Natural Beautiii is a line of hair care products for all types of curly hair. All of my products contain natural ingredients that I feel are most essential for the care of everyone’s curls. I’m extremely happy with how well my company is doing, I’m still in my first year and I’m amazed at the support. I’ve had people visit my website from Africa, England, Italy… it’s such an amazing feeling.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’m fairly new to Texas, I just moved from Orlando, Florida about 3 months ago and the support I’ve received so far is phenomenal! The people here are super nice, extremely helpful and so welcoming. The southern hospitality is definitely real! It’s a HUGE place, but I can’t wait to experience more here.
