Today we’d like to introduce you to Ericka Fajardo.
Ericka, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
For as long as I can remember I have always been infatuated with any and everything artistic. When I was young, I loved to practice doing makeup on friends and family. It didn’t take long for everyone around me to notice my obvious talent and passion for beauty. After years of doing makeup for fun and seeing how confident and beautiful I could make others feel, while truly making a connection with them, I knew that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Encouraged to follow my dreams by my supportive family, I went off on my own to Los Angeles, CA where I studied at the historic Cinema Makeup School. After-which, I went on to study at Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Between these two schools, I gained all the knowledge, skills, and confidence that makes me the great artist I am today. Most recently, I trained with Lux Lash & Brow Co. in order to add several more services to my list including microblading, eyebrow threading, and more! Currently, in between raising our ever-growing family with my husband and beautifying my loyal clients, I continue to attend makeup workshops to keep my skills sharp and up to date. It is with a huge heart, a unique passion, and many years of knowledge and experience in the art of makeup, that I strive to make every experience in my chair, one that will never be forgotten!
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a makeup artist by profession and beauty expert by heart. I get the pleasure of applying makeup to beautiful women (and occasionally men) for their most special moments. I do photo shoots, weddings, and so much more! My goal is to enhance each client’s natural beauty and help them to see the best version of themselves. My hope is that each of my clients leave feeling more confident than ever. I love building that special relationship with each of my clients and learning about them, all the while getting to be a part of those special moments in their life. I believe my ability to hear my clients wants and needs along with my meticulous attention to detail, is what sets me apart from other artists. I strive to bring out the beauty that my clients already possess, without going overboard or making them look unrecognizable. Although I am able to create a dramatic, full face look if my client wants, I am all about showcasing their natural beauty!
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
If I were to give any advice to a new makeup artist, I would tell them not to be afraid to take chances. This is something I wish I learned much earlier in my career. I missed out on a lot of great opportunities simply because I did not feel confident enough in my ability. I would also tell them to never stop learning and advancing. The beauty industry is ever-changing and by taking classes, watching videos and always studying the newest trends to learn any and everything about makeup artistry, you can make sure you aren’t left behind!

I get a majority of my new clients by word of mouth. I always say that the biggest form of flattery for me is a referral!
