Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Fain.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kimberly. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I bought my first “really nice camera” back in 2012 with no intentions of doing anything with it. I wanted to take all the pictures I could of my sweet grandkids. I had a Regional Sales position for a company out of Houston calling on doctors, and then on the weekends, I you-tubed videos trying to figure out this camera thing!! At the end of 2013, I took my first newborn workshop thinking that maybe I’d give this a whirl!! In 2015 and four workshops later, I opened a beautiful studio in downtown Burleson with a friend and that’s when the party started!! I quit my 20 year long career and became a newborn photographer full time. I have put my whole heart and soul into this adventure and I love what I do. I pride myself on happy mommies and great customer service. I truly have the best job on earth. It doesn’t get any better than cuddling brand new babies every week.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has definitely not been a smooth road!! This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’ve never worked this hard EVER. LOL!! Although we make it look easy and fun, it’s kinda rough at times. We are sitting in a very hot room trying to keep that baby comfy. Then everything we have gets peed and pooped on. Including the photographer!! And babies run the show!! You never know what you’re going to get!! Not to mention, we spend so much money on workshops, safety courses, props, props, and more props!! It’s hard to make a living sometimes because there is so many amazing newborn vendors with beautiful little outfits, buckets, bows, bonnets and backdrops. But then it’s so rewarding when you see mommy cry while watching that amazing video of her brand new baby’s first photo session. That makes it all worth it 🙂
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Simply Baby by Kimberly Fain story. Tell us more about the business.
Simply Baby was founded in 2014 specializing in fine art newborn portraiture. We focus on babies and their first year. We also love taking beautiful images of mommy at 30-34 weeks of pregnancy. Customer service and amazing timeless images is what sets us apart from others. When you book with our studio, you will receive gorgeous art that can be passed down from generation to generation. Photography that is simple, organic and timeless. It will never go out of style. An investment you will treasure for a lifetime.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The only way to answer this question is that I’m the luckiest photographer in the world because I have the most amazing clients. I have made lifelong friends doing this 🙂

I met Kim through a mutual friend for a newborn session and it was the best recommendation I’ve ever gotten. She’s photographed my last two babies for newborns and we’ve done several other sessions with her as well that included all four of my kids. I did a maternity session with my last baby, I was so nervous and uncomfortable but by the time we started and finished my nerves were gone and the smiles in my pictures were real and genuine from laughing and enjoying it. The amount of time and attention she puts into her sessions is astounding. I’ve been brought to tears NUMEROUS times at the final images I get from my sessions. Each one is personable to the client and you’ll leave your session feeling like you e gained a new friend.

We were recommended to Kim by a friend In Oklahoma. It was the best decision we’ve ever made. She made us feel at home in her beautiful studio. We sat back and watched her work her magic with our little one. I felt like he was in good hands as soon as I passed him off to her. Thank you Kim for your amazing skills and giving us beautiful pictures for our home. You are truly the best in your field.

I remember when Kim started and it’s been such an inspiration to see her go from that first good camera to the artist she is today. I’m always awestruck at the beautiful images she creates. There are a lot of people who have great cameras and can take descent pictures, but there are few with Kim’s eye for detail. She captures the moments that others would miss. If you want a photographer that will produce jaw dropping images, Kim is your girl.

Kim Fain is simply the best of the best! We made a huge mistake by going with someone less expensive and then she came to the rescue to re-do our entire session. I guarantee we won’t make that mistake with baby number 2! She’s worth every penny.
