Today we’d like to introduce you to Seun Oguntosin.
Seun, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Confidence is key!
I was born in Nigeria and came to America when I was 2, was raised In the DFW area until 18. Then, attended the University of North Texas and majored in Marketing with a minor in Advertising. At the time, I was in high school I never had the best phone to take pictures with or even the best clothes. What I’ve always had was my confidence. Wear your confidence like it’s the most expensive designer.
While at UNT, I tried maintaining an outfit of the day at least on once a week. I also wore different outfits for events depending on how many people will be at the event. I kept doing that thru college and of course, you have your ups and your down but no matter what keep going.
I personally believe we partake in Marketing every day via in-person or social media. Twitter is Marketing as Instagram is Advertising ourselves. On Twitter, our share beliefs or post is a representation of who we want people to perceive ourselves as. Instagram is Advertising just for the fact we post Ads (ourselves which are products) with taglines(captions). Knowing this push me to go harder once I graduated college. I started doing random photo sessions to build up my confidence. As more people gave me positive feedback, it pushed me to make most of my photo sessions a concept theme. I want people to look at my Instagram (@kingseun3) and feel confident they can do it too. I always consider myself a local model, now I have confidence that I can pursue whatever the winds blow.
Confidence is really key!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Yes and no. There are times when your confidence goes up and down. There are also times where you become stagnant. There are also times where your day to day career stops you.
How could you bounce back from that ? is a question I tell myself about my weekly reflections. It’s imperative to always have some time for yourself to reflect on your life if its a ride home from work or relaxing at home.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Seun (@kingseun3) – what should we know?

Marketing/Fashion Model/Influencer
Besides working in the Corporate world as a Marketing Professional, I model on the weekends. If it’s modeling a local company’s products or producing a concept with a photographer. I love working with new and different photographers to display their style and work in the world. It’s a great feeling to have multiple people reach me saying they like this photo and how they want that specific photographer that did that work. That’s one of my many goals.
What set me apart, is that I have an understanding of what my audience(followers on social media) and potential audience will like.
Example: when you take 10 photos and you choose 4 out of them, do you ever consider that what photos you don’t post is photos that your audience will probably like way more. Once you have a grasp of what your audience like you can go further in the social media world.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I would give credit to my close friends!
I have a couple of different friend’s groups that actually see my pictures and give me real advice, I’m truly grateful for them.
Also, grateful for the selective friends that give me the additional confidence I need before posting. All I can say is have a group of people that won’t constantly judge you!
Finally, I want to give credit to each PHOTOGRAPHER that I’ve worked with. It’s been a pleasure.
