Today we’d like to introduce you to Octavia Howard.
Wink Out Loud was born to the mind of a working mother and wife, Octavia Howard. When the corporate world failed to provide personal fulfillment, Octavia took things into her own hands and set out to begin a new endeavor.
In 2014, she trained with one of the best lash technicians, while attending school to become an eyelash technician specialist. Upon completion, Octavia plunged into the Eyelash Industry, fist swinging. Three years ago, this kickstart business made its debut! In a small office suite, a polite one on one setting, it began. Wink Out Loud has since expanded tremendously to a premier lash studio with 3 suites! Wink Out Loud is now home to three Eyelash Technicians as well as an Esthetician! Serving over 200 clients all over the DFW, Wink Out Loud is the premier location for all Eyelash Extensions services and Lash Training!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, one major struggle has been learning to find a balance between being a business owner, a wife and a mother. Often times having to remind me the current sacrifices are only temporary.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Wink Out Loud story. Tell us more about the business.
I am most proud of how far we have come as a company, the relationships I built during this journey and the fact Wink Out Loud is still here. I believe the rapport we build with each client is what sets us apart from any other lash studio. Our take pride in making sure every client is comfortable and looks forward to each lash appointment not just because of the service but the opportunity to truly relax and enjoy their me time.
Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
I would say to remain confident in why you started and to keep pushing. If you aren’t confident or believe in what you are doing it will be hard to get others to buy into your dreams. Try not to be easily discouraged, you can’t compare your current progress to others.
