Almost 8 years ago, fresh out of beauty school, I started my journey with a very well-known waxing franchise company. Since then I have been very fortunate to have gained my experience by working with some of the best Waxers and Estheticians in the Dallas area. Since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to own my own business. About 10 months ago I decided to take the jump and it has been the best decision that I have ever made. I’ve always had a passion for making others feel good about themselves and it is such a blessing that I am able to live my dream every day.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to success has definitely been a challenge. Starting on your own takes a lot of hard work and determination. I think the biggest challenge I’ve faced would have to be constantly reminding myself to stay positive and motivated.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Pure Bare Waxing Studio story. Tell us more about the business.
Pure Bare Waxing Studio is a full body waxing salon for both men and women. I specialize in Brazilian waxing with a hard wax (a strapless wax that makes waxing less painful). All products I use are organic, vegan, and cruelty free. I also strive to be eco-friendly by using biodegradable supplies.
When I decided to go on my own, I knew I wanted to be different from your average cookie cutter franchise company. I think what sets me apart from others is my waxing technique. I’m all about walking my clients through their service and making sure they are as comfortable as possible.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Personally, I believe you make your own luck. If you want bad enough, you work harder than you have to get it. Although others may say I’ve been pretty lucky since starting out on my own. In just 10 months, some pretty awesome opportunities have crossed my path. Luck or not, I am beyond grateful for all that has come my way.
