Meet Keisha Anderson of Fire N Ice Private Basketball Skills Training Academy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Anderson.

Keisha knew at a very early age that basketball was her world. Living in the small city of Racine Wisconsin, playing basketball at the John Bryant recreational center was her life. As a high school senior at Park high school in Racine, Wisconsin Keisha Anderson received Miss Wisconsin Basketball and Parade All American. Keisha received a full basketball scholarship to the University of Arizona during ’92-’93 and was selected to the all-Freshman Pac 10 team. Proving herself ultimately worthy on the court she transferred to University of Wisconsin. Excelling from all freshman Pac 10 team to First Team All-Big 10, Keisha became Wisconsin’s 8th all-time in scoring, second all-time in assists and 1st in all time steals. Her continued efforts received District IV First team All American and Wisconsin MVP in 1997.

During ‘97 she also finished her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, along with being a proud 16th overall draft pick to join the American Basketball League’s Colorado Xplosion. The ABL came to an ultimate demise, and she broke new ground traveling abroad taking her career to Team Elitzur in Holon Isreal.

Traveling back to the states, she was drafted by the Women’s National Basketball League’s Atlanta Justice becoming an instrumental part of the team’s success winning the championship during 2000-2001. After the championship, Keisha was then picked up as a free agent by the WNBA’s Washington Mystics in 2004. When the WNBA season ended she continued to play professional basketball with Dallas Fury the fall of 2004-2005. During the following WNBA season Keisha was traded to the Charlotte Sting, where she played two seasons. Fall 2005-2007 Keisha played with the Chicago Blaze, ultimately finalizing her professional basketball career overseas with team Istanbul University, in Istanbul Turkey. Keisha received one of basketball’s greatest honors being inducted into the Racine, Wisconsin Hall of Fame on October, 25th 2012. The following year Keisha was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame October 5th 2013! She did not stray from the court too long by acting on her vision to spread her talent to the future of basketball co-founding Fire N Ice professional basketball training! Keisha wanted to inspire the youth of the world the same way she was inspired throughout life through the game of basketball.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Her height, often criticized did not stop her from succeeding in her women’s basketball career. She wants to let the universe know that adversities may come being a female entrepreneur in a male dominated sport, however with strong determination and hard work you will prevail!

Fire N Ice Private Basketball Skills Training Academy is a professional basketball skills company that helps athletes achieve their full potential.

FirenIce is headquartered in Allen, Texas. It is FIREnICE’s MISSION to provide a professional and fun environment to teach basketball. We are dedicated to developing our clients regardless of their skill level. It is our goal to incorporate life learned lessons while focusing on the fundamentals of the game. We are very passionate about basketball. We firmly believe that coaches have very important responsibilities and amazing opportunities to have a positive impact on our player’s lives. We are here to help improve their basketball IQ and remind them of what’s important. We have won multiple championships in the DFW metroplex. Our students have received multiple scholarships to colleges and universities. We are known for our focus on skills and fundamentals of basketball. Also, our new technology training differentiates us from other skills training companies.

Keisha also founded the nonprofit organization Hoop Passion Charities. She not only wants to give underprivileged kids the chance join a program they may otherwise couldn’t afford, but to involve them in a positive environment. We have successfully sponsored children in multiple states through our traveling clinics.
