Today we’d like to introduce you to D’Ann Lynch.
D’Ann, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have over 20 plus years of experience in the beauty industry as well as I’ve worked in the fashion industry for over 8 years. Also, I’ve had the opportunity to work with models signed and unsigned, Published Internationally in Vogue Italia, Envie’ Magazine, Fashion Ghana Magazine to name a few. Also, I’ve work with some of the best designers and photographers in my community and afar. I’m a mother of two children Asia and Jordan and I’ve been married for 27 years to and amazing man (Fred). In 2012, I won the title of “Makeup Artist of the year” in Dallas, TX through an organization called Raw Natural Born Artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Last fall I moved to San Diego, CA to pursue my dreams as well as assist in helping my husband continue to follow his dreams as a speaker, motivational coach, and mentor. My goal is to get build a global brand and platform to help young children as well as seniors unveil the true beauty that’s deep down inside, Helping young girls with self-esteem and volunteering when I can would be such a blessing. Also, if I could help cancer patients in their time of difficulty would also be a blessing. My highest goal would be to work with a major corporation or a reputable cosmetic line while developing some type of product awareness program for consumers to help society become more knowledgeable in regards to having better skincare.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely hasn’t been a smooth road for me taken that I’ve been in this industry so long and so much has changed. Some of the struggles that I faced were trying to remain positive even though things was going very slow at one point in my career because of burnt out and changes in the makeup industry. I realized that there will always be highs and lows and it’s not where you are its where you plan on going in your career. Even though the industry may be busy, if you have a gift, that the good Lord gave you there will always be room for a platform. One of my mottos: “The gift that you have is not for you, but it’s for others.”
Distinguished Looks by D’Ann – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a Professional Internationally Published Makeup Artist. I know for my very creative and dramatic makeup styles and sometimes avante’ garde makeup looks. My goal is to unveil the true beauty inside of every client with or without makeup. First of all my goal is to make sure each and every client is satisfied with my work. (That is my inspiration my clients) My prayer is to encourage, motivate, and inspire each and every client that sits down in my chair through having a welcoming connection and warm inter action. I hope that each client will feels the love, passion, and desire I have for makeup. My artwork is very distinguished in that I have honed to unveil the true beauty inside once I’ve completed my makeup application. What I’m most proud of is the creativity and the uniqueness of the brand itself along with a welcoming southern hospitality once a client sits in my chair.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Even though I’ve had many accomplishments, winning the title of “Makeup ARTIST of the YEAR” through an organization called “RAW Natural Born Artist” based out of Los Angeles, CA. (rawartist.org) was the most exciting because I was able to really flex.
