Art & Life with Patty Lashbrook

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patty Lashbrook.

Patty, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I am a photographer because I want the world to notice the beauty that is all around them. It’s in people, in nature, in architecture. We are all so busy that we rush through this life, in such a hurry to reach the end. Life is a journey, not a race. I want my work to be the reason people slow down and savor the little moments and victories in their lives. Currently, I am living in America’s heartland, surrounded by corn fields and soybeans, with great countryside views all around my home. I miss Texas and I visit her every chance I get.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My photography passion is landscape and nature, but I also do portraiture for individuals and families. I am dabbling in a little fashion photography lately, as well. When people see my work, I want them to see what God sees. I want them to realize the joys this life has to offer.

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Don’t be afraid to reach out. I think this crazy rat race can be lonely if we let it, regardless of our profession or passion. Talk to people, complement them, ask questions, get involved in your community. We were never made to run through life alone.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My work is viewable on Instagram and Facebook (Patty Lashbrook Photography) but most of it is on my website, pattylashbrookphotography.com. You can like, share, follow, and comment on my social media pages and works, for emotional support. My website has ordering options if you want to display any of my work.
