Meet Meghan Holden of Meghan Holden Photography in North Dallas-McKinney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Holden.

Meghan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started learning how to take photos when I was pregnant with my daughter.

I wanted to be able to take awesome photos of my daughter EVERY day to remember what she looked like at every stage in life. I knew little babies changed SO quickly, and the milestone photo shoots weren’t going to cut it for me! I wanted to document EVERY little change!

After learning how to use my camera and with LOTS of practice on my little girl, I started my photography business!

Shooting babies and newborns have been my passion ever since having my daughter. Since documenting every little moment in my own child’s life is so important, I make it a priority to offer packages to my clients that will follow their newborn baby all through their whole first year of life.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been “smooth” as I have built my business. The most difficult struggle has been trying to juggle family life and photography life.

Time with family and friends are really important to me. I’ve had to learn how to manage my time wisely so that I still have hours in the week to spend quality time with family and friends, but also still do what I love.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a portrait photographer who specializes in newborns and babies.

I am most proud of how close I become with the families of babies I photograph. I love following along with them from the fresh 48 photos all the way to their 1st year smash cake photos. We really create a bond that is special and meaningful.

I think what sets me apart from other newborn photographers is my commitment to ensuring that parents are able to relax and enjoy the experience of documenting memories that they can look back on with their baby from their first year of life. It allows me to create a bond with parents that often leads to friendship! I love all my clients and the joy their families bring to me!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I absolutely feel like our city is a great place for photographers starting out!

I don’t think it matters where you live! I feel like my niche of photography is the most needed! Babies are being born every day, there aren’t enough photographers to keep up! I think every parent should make it a priority to get photos of their newborn the first 48 hours and all throughout their first year of life!

If a new photographer is starting out, I encourage them to make sure that their passion to serve and love their clients well is made a priority! It will shine through and bring you success you could have never dreamed of!
