Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason and Shea Kramer.
Jason wanted to be a history teacher. Felt that was a great way to influence others and help make difference (the history part is just because he’s a geek and loves to learn about history). He went to a Chiropractor while attending his undergraduate (Western Washington University) after being in a car accident. His Chiropractor told him that if he wants to make a difference he needed to be a Chiropractor himself. Jason joked that he wanted to help with more than just ‘pain’. After shadowing his Chiropractor for a few weeks he saw that patients not only left ‘feeling better’ but as their nerve systems were improved and better protected from principled Chiropractic care most other health conditions were improving as well. That’s when it was explained to him that the nerve system is the MASTER controller of the body and Chiropractic is a way to get sick people well and keep healthy people from getting sick.
Shea had a unique experience growing up with chiropractic. Her younger brother suffered from severe ear infections and at the age of 4, he had 8 consecutive rounds of antibiotics for them. The pediatrician then scheduled him for surgery to have tubes placed in his ears. After that meeting with the pediatrician, her parents found out that chiropractic care may be able to help him and so they started taking him in for adjustments. His ear infections cleared up on their own after starting chiropractic care, and they cancelled his surgery for tubes in his ears. She had a front row seat to watch the “magic” of chiropractic. She had the opportunity to work & help in a chiropractic office throughout high school, where she got to watch more and more of these amazing stories unfold. She decided that she wanted to help other families experience what she got to experience with chiropractic care, so she pursued her education in that field to learn the science behind the magic. Helping people understand the intricate relationship between the nervous system and your overall health has been her mission for years.
Jason and Shea met in Chiropractic school in Marietta, Georgia. Toward the end of school were engaged and after throwing a dart at a map moved to Texas where they’ve opened a practice together and as of September 2018 are celebrating their 7th birthday in practice!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would by no means call our experience a smooth road. We packed up and moved to city where we knew no people and had minimal business guidance. We navigated the rocky waters of looking for space, evaluating a lease, developing a marketing plan and putting in the footwork of launching a business with just the two of us. There were so many trials and errors! Luckily, both of us are bull-headed just enough that we refused to give up when faced with challenges. I would say that our hardest challenge in the beginning was giving ourselves a crash course on launching a business because that is not a skill they teach in the graduate program. The challenges after we were officially open came in the form of balancing working in our business and working on our business. Learning our market and how to effectively reach people with our mission has been an evolving project. Our days were so long in the beginning years- we worked in the office 6 days a week and would often be out in the community doing marketing both days of the weekend. We built an incredible endurance for pushing forward and making things happen.
Revolution Chiropractic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Revolution Chiropractic is a state of the art chiropractic facility that specializes in gentle and specific care that is applicable for people of all ages- from newborn to the elderly. We wanted to make chiropractic care accessible for the whole family, so we chose techniques that allow us to be extremely gentle but at the same time precise, specific, and effective. People come to us because of our commitment to being excellent at providing chiropractic care. Our process is very streamlined and designed to be mindful of the patient’s time, so we have very short wait times in our office. We are specialized in taking care of pregnant women, children, and family oriented care. We are most proud of the diversity of cases in our office – we take care of people with the more common complaints of neck pain and back pain, but we also have had amazing success stories with people who have Parkinson’s, allergies, autoimmune conditions, chronic infections, dizziness, and more.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
We personally go by the beat of our own drum. Success to us is a balance of work and play. There was a Tony Robbins quote that struck a chord with us many years ago- “Success is doing what you want to do, when you want, where you want, with whom you want, as much as you want.” We put our whole heart into everything we do. When its office time, we are 100% office. When it is play time, we are 100% play. When it is travel time, we are 100% into our travel. If we find that we are getting burnt out too quickly in the office, we plan a weekend getaway. Our patients even remind us that they need us to be at our best, and occasional time off is required for that. Our criteria for rejuvenating time off includes time outdoors, light agendas, delicious coffee and checking out the local digs of wherever we are visiting. Both of us also have a desire to influence others to want to do more and be better. We are always reading personal growth books and listening to podcasts. We know that there have been times that we have needed lifted up and are always looking for ways to be able to pay it forward as people have done for us.
