Today we’d like to introduce you to Maceo Smedley.
Maceo Smedley was born on February 7, 2007, in Houston, TX. During the summer of 2012, after bumping into an agent at a restaurant, Maceo who was only five at the time signed with Pastorini Bosby Talent, and booked his first national commercial in October that same year.
Shortly thereafter, Maceo became a very familiar face appearing in national commercials. He got his big break when he caught the eye of casting directors for the record-breaking television series Underground on WGN. From there he has played co-star and principal roles in many television series and movies.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been smooth. Learning to juggle school, filming, traveling, and time with friends has always been a challenge that most people my age would not have to think about. I often have to remind myself that it is worth it at the end of the day.

Currently, I play Young Tyrone who is the superhero Cloak on Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger showing on ABC Freeform. I also play Daevon Washington on Netflix All About the Washingtons. In 2019 I will be co-starring in a Disney movie called Nolle with Anna Kendrick.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Cloak and Dagger just announce that they have been picked up for season two and I hope that they continue to write my part in the script. We are also waiting to see if All About the Washingtons gets a second season and if so I am really looking forward to filming another season of that show. I would like to do more movies in the near future.
I worked on a short film currently playing on Showtime called Mamma, and it would really be nice if they turned it into a feature film and we can take the storyline and make it a movie. Other than that, when I get older, I want to become a director.
