An Inspired Chat with April Young of Euless

April Young shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi April, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Wake up at 5:30 am get dressed, , Once I get into the car before heading to the gym . I sit in my car for about 10 minutes, I take time to pray for the day , my struggles , my blessing . Also taking time to pray for 3 random people a month . Head to the gym for my morning workout to help with anxiety , stress. To help have a smooth day. Head home to start my work day.!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello my name is April Young and I’m 47. I’m single and adjusting to being an empty nester . Currently I work for a trucking company as a customer service rep for 7yrs . Last year I started a self love journey . In that journey I tried the modeling world . I unfortunately had to put that on hold and continue to work on myself , hopes to try it again with better luck . In my journey I’m learning new hobbies I’ve never had guts to do . I’m taking guitar lessons and ball room dancing . Hoping to shoot for competitive ballroom. .

I started this self love journey due to thyroid cancer back in 2021 and 3 skin cancers 2022. I slumped into depression, feeling un worthy . It took a bad break up to realize I am worthy and I can do anything I put my mind and determination too .

If I can help others feel worthy , knowing they can too do it , that they are just important as anyone else ! They matter … dreams can be accomplished.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
What shaped me to see what the world was really about . In 2013 ex husband was 30 and passed suddenly. We barely been split up a year . From that moment reality of what matters the most and how I needed to be for society . I pulled myself out of toxicity, got into working out . Learned to treat others like there is no tomorrow. Love is so important, the world needs more kindness and love . It’s still a struggle people are so selfish. When you lose something that you once love and built a life , you realize the stuff you take from granted ,God can snatch it all up from you . Strip you down to nothing to make you rebuild . Never take anything or anyone for granted .

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
The one thing I would love to tell myself. That you can do anything, that you are loved . If I could go back and just hug her I would , let her know I’m sorry I let her down .

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
The believe I think is love , true mad passionate love . I can’t prove it , because I’m single and have been for a few years . It’s hard to find . I’ve been let down so much and hurt . I think society and all these options, it’s taken away the old generation type of love . We all keep our heads in the phone vs conversations with meaning . Now , I’m believing if it’s meant to be it will happen . If not I’ve accepted the fact that I will be single and never find that love .

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people will remember me by the love and my huge heart I had . Hoping I was able to reach and help people , that never spoke on how I helped them, hoping when I pass they share stories and laughs of how goofy I was to help others .
