Check Out Allen Spurlock’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allen Spurlock.

Hi Allen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello! Al-B here, the creator of “That’s Funny Ain’t It! Comedy TV Series” Our platform just made a year since we started and it has been an awesome experience thus far!

The concept originates from a birthday party we had for my wife at our home. The vibes were high, we had food, drinks and a live DJ (DJ JCof). It reminded of how I went to house parties in earlier years. Then the thought hit me, how would this house party be if we had comedians come perform live? Then BOOM, here we are!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In my opinion, no road is ever smooth. You have to constantly refine and reshape the vision. We are produced TV Show so we are constantly enhancing our quality to make the show the best watching experience it can be. We were fortunate to partner with a black owned streaming company called Ruff-Flow Entertainment + TV (located Downtown Dallas) that exclusively airs our TV show.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As the creator of TFAI, my job is to mainly to ensure continuous growth of the platform. On a daily basis I focus on what can I do to increase awareness of the platform, promoting upcoming shows while building future ones and collaborating with potential sponsors or partners.

I’m most proud of the fact that we have featured and showcased over 100 comedians locally and surrounding areas by appearing on our show, featuring them on our website and giving spotlights and recognition

What I feel sets us apart is our dedication to the work. Focusing on the small details. Ultimately this platform is to show comedians in the best light possible so their true comedic talent can be appreciated.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I know it sounds cliche’ but I want to give alot of credit to the team behind TFAI. When I had the idea to do the platform I knew exactly whom to contact first which was a friend by the name of Que. Que and I act as main investors of the platform and also work together to produce it. Our wives act as Hostess and Event Coordinators.
We have a live DJ we feature every show which is DJ JCof who is always trying to bring the best experience from an acoustics standpoint. We have a super creative merch advisor named Amanada whom has a company called 24k Collective. We all work together well with a common goal of building the biggest platform possible.
