Hi everyone! My name is Andrea Castro, and I’m the founder of SugarBalloons! Long story short, the business officially started in 2020 here in Dallas, Texas, but I first discovered the world of balloons in 2016 when I was 17. From the very first moment, I fell in love with everything about it.
It has been a beautiful journey, full of lessons and growth, but I truly believe that when you do something with passion and conviction, it can take you to incredible places! This fills me with so much pride because I know that my discipline has turned this business from a hobby into my profession.
It might sound easy, but spending 5 years in an industry that thrives on innovation and creativity, constantly pushes me to create more professional and groundbreaking designs. Personally, every project and every order is a new challenge, but since I love everything about my business, exploring my ideas and discovering what I’m capable and comes naturally.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been an easy road. Every business has its challenges, and I’ve faced my own. One of the biggest challenges was managing growth and demand while staying true to my vision and ensuring the quality of my work.
In an industry based on creativity and innovation, it can be difficult to keep up with the constant need for fresh ideas while ensuring each project is perfect. There have also been moments of doubt and uncertainty, especially in the early stages when I was balancing this with other commitments.
Additionally, I started this business in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, which presented a significant challenge that pushed me to fully believe in myself and my ability to face the reality of that moment. But despite these challenges, every obstacle has been a valuable lesson and a significant part of my growth both as an artist and as a businesswoman.”

At SugarBalloons, we specialize in creating custom balloon decorations for special events. We offer themed garlands, columns arches and centerpieces that transform any space, In Addition to our balloon bouquets and helium bunch, gifts that can elevate your everyday celebration.

What truly sets us apart is our blend of creativity and professionalism, ensuring that each design is a true reflection of the client’s vision. Additionally, our versatility allows us to successfully handle everything from celebrations, like birthday parties, to high-level corporate events, always exceeding expectations.
One of my biggest achievements has been turning SugarBalloons into my profession. Seeing how my work positively impacts our clients’ celebrations is incredibly rewarding
My personalized approach and passion for design make me different. I get involved in each project from the start, ensuring every detail aligns with the client’s expectations. Plus, my ability to innovate allows me to offer fresh and exciting solutions.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Well, since I was little, I was always the creative child who loved to paint, dance, and embrace vibrant colors. I believe this naturally led me to express my creativity through balloons.
Initially, I aspired to be an architect, later a designer, but I never imagined that the future would allow me to merge these two passions into one: becoming a Professional Balloon Designer, a role crafted for balloon artists that enables me to gain professional recognition in this industry. You might wonder if such a profession truly exists—and indeed it does! I never imagined that my passion would be legally and professionally endorsed by an institution, specifically, the Florida Department of Education—and I have the honor of being part of the first graduating class from this institute
