Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Craig Williams, Jr..
Kenneth Craig, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story honestly began before I even realized it was becoming one. I’ve always been a creative at heart — the kid who saw the world through design, presentation, music, emotion, and detail. I grew up in Indiana and naturally gravitated toward leadership, creativity, and making things feel elevated, whether it was fashion, décor, music, or even the atmosphere of a room. I was styling, designing, organizing, and creatively directing long before I knew there were actual careers attached to those gifts.
One of my earliest defining moments happened during elementary school on a class trip to the Indiana State House, where I created handmade 3-D heart-shaped American flag ornaments that caught the attention of Indiana State Representative Sheila Klinker. She shared words with me that I still carry today: “Be as authentic as possible and keep reaching toward your wildest dreams.” That became a cornerstone of how I move through life and business.
This year marks 25 years of entrepreneurship for me, which is something I’m incredibly proud of because my journey has never been built on shortcuts or trends. I’ve spent over two decades building a career rooted in creativity, reinvention, and resilience across the music, fashion, entertainment, interior design, and executive business worlds. I’ve been blessed to work as a published celebrity wardrobe consultant for both men and women, an interior designer, creative visionary, executive administrator, and business executive — often wearing several hats at the same time. Apparently, balance and organized chaos are two of my hidden talents.
Entertainment also became an unexpected but exciting part of my story. Over the years, I’ve done acting work and special appearances on major television platforms including Empire, Chicago Med, Chicago P.D., Chicago Justice, Dr. Phil, as well as appearances on BET, VH1, TBN, CBN, The Word Network, and Fox Broadcasting Company, among others. Being able to step into television and entertainment spaces taught me so much about adaptability, confidence, and understanding the power of presence.
Fashion has always remained one of my first loves because I believe style speaks before you do. Over the years, I’ve worked with incredible creatives and brands, including designer Sai Sankoh, where I not only served in leadership roles ranging from Wholesale Manager to Personal Assistant and Store Manager, but also assisted with design work and creative development. Being involved in both the business and creative sides of fashion gave me a well-rounded understanding of the industry and strengthened my eye for detail, storytelling, and luxury presentation. I also spent several years as the lead visual merchandising manager for Stein Mart before relocating from Indiana to Dallas, Texas — a move that challenged me, sharpened me, and ultimately elevated me both personally and professionally.
I think what makes my journey unique is that I’ve never allowed myself to be boxed into one identity. I’ve learned that creativity has many languages. Some people know me through fashion, others through business, television, music, styling, design, or leadership. And honestly, I love that. I never wanted a one-dimensional life.
Personality-wise, I’d describe myself as polished but relatable. I take my work seriously, but I absolutely love humor and making people laugh. I can discuss luxury branding, visual storytelling, or executive operations in one breath, then joke about needing a vacation from being “the dependable one” in the next. I believe elegance and authenticity can coexist.
Most importantly, everything I do is intentional. Whether I’m helping style a client, assist with designing a collection, curate a space, lead behind the scenes, or simply encourage someone through conversation, I want people to leave feeling inspired, seen, and elevated in some way. Success means very little to me if it doesn’t positively impact other people along the journey.
And truthfully, I still feel like I’m just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not — and honestly, I think that’s what makes my story relatable and meaningful. People often see the polished version of success: the fashion, the television appearances, the business experience, the luxury, the confidence. What they don’t always see are the years of sacrifice, uncertainty, reinvention, and resilience behind it all.
Being an entrepreneur for 25 years means I started very young, so in many ways, I grew up while building. There were moments where I had to navigate adulthood, business, creativity, and personal growth all at the same time. That can be incredibly rewarding, but also incredibly humbling. I’ve experienced seasons where opportunities flowed effortlessly, and other seasons where I had to completely rebuild, pivot, or remind myself not to confuse a difficult chapter with a defeated life.
Working across industries like fashion, entertainment, design, and music also comes with its own unique challenges. Creative industries can be beautiful, inspiring, and fulfilling — but they can also be unpredictable and highly competitive. I’ve had moments where I was overlooked, underestimated, overextended, or placed in rooms where people assumed style and substance couldn’t exist in the same person. I had to learn how to advocate for myself while still maintaining grace and professionalism.
Relocating from Indiana to Texas was another major transition for me. Starting over in a new city sounds exciting — and it was — but it also required a tremendous amount of faith, adaptability, and persistence. Dallas elevated me in many ways, but there were definitely moments where I questioned myself, my direction, and whether all the hard work would fully pay off. Thankfully, I’ve always believed that reinvention is part of growth.
I’ve also learned that being multi-talented can sometimes confuse people. When you genuinely excel in several areas, people often want to reduce you to just one thing because it’s easier for them to process. But I’ve never been just one thing. I’m creative, strategic, business-minded, artistic, visionary, humorous, detail-oriented, and deeply people-centered. Learning to embrace all of those layers unapologetically was part of my journey too.
Another struggle was learning balance. I’m naturally someone who pours into others, sometimes to the point of exhaustion. In both business and personal life, I’ve had to learn that being dependable doesn’t mean neglecting yourself. That lesson was hard-earned. There were times I carried pressure silently while still showing up polished and professional because that’s what was expected of me.
At the same time, every challenge refined me. The setbacks strengthened my faith, sharpened my instincts, deepened my empathy, and taught me how to lead with both confidence and compassion. I don’t regret the difficult seasons because they helped shape the man I am today.
And through it all, I’ve never lost my sense of humor. I firmly believe laughter is survival. Sometimes you have to laugh, regroup, adjust your crown, straighten your blazer, and keep going. That balance of resilience, elegance, authenticity, and humor has carried me through every chapter of my life and career.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Absolutely — this version keeps it more focused on your work, impact, and uniqueness without repeating too much from your introduction:
What I do is rooted in creativity, presentation, and helping bring vision to life. Professionally, I specialize in fashion consulting, creative direction, visual merchandising, branding, luxury presentation, executive support, and interior styling. I’ve spent years working across fashion, entertainment, business, and design, which has allowed me to develop a very versatile skill set and perspective.
I’m probably best known for having a strong creative eye and the ability to elevate almost anything I touch. Whether it’s styling a client, assisting with fashion design, curating a space, organizing visuals for a brand, or helping execute business operations behind the scenes, I pay attention to details that other people often overlook. I believe presentation matters — not just aesthetically, but emotionally. “People remember how something made them feel,” quoted by my friend, Fashion Guru Elliot Carlyle.
I’m also known for being someone who can seamlessly blend professionalism with personality. I take my work seriously, but I’m still very much myself. I love humor, conversation, authenticity, and creating environments where people feel comfortable, inspired, and confident. I think that relatability is part of why people connect with me professionally and personally.
One of the things I’m most proud of is longevity. Reaching 25 years as an entrepreneur is a huge accomplishment, especially while working across multiple industries that constantly evolve. I’m proud that I’ve been able to sustain, adapt, and continue growing while remaining authentic to who I am. I’m also proud of the relationships and trust I’ve built over the years. To me, reputation is everything.
What sets me apart is that I’m multifaceted. I’ve never limited myself to one lane, and I think that versatility gives me an advantage creatively and professionally. I can understand the artistic side of a vision while also understanding the business side needed to execute it successfully. That balance is rare.
I also think people can feel when someone genuinely loves what they do — and I truly do. Creativity has never just been a career for me; it’s part of who I am. Even after all these years, I still get excited about creating, evolving, learning, and finding new ways to inspire people through my work.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me and collaborate with me in several different capacities because my background spans ‘your norm.’ I currently collaborate on projects involving fashion styling, wardrobe consulting, creative direction, luxury branding, interior styling, event aesthetics, visual merchandising, and executive or business support. I also enjoy working alongside fellow creatives, entrepreneurs, artists, designers, and brands that value originality and intentionality. I love being part of projects where ideas can genuinely come to life in an elevated and impactful way.
Support can also look as simple as engaging with my work, sharing opportunities, referring clients, collaborating creatively, or simply pouring encouragement back into creatives and entrepreneurs. People often underestimate how far genuine support, word-of-mouth, and community can go.
One thing about me — I genuinely value relationships and energy just as much as talent or opportunity. I believe the best collaborations happen when there’s mutual respect, clear vision, professionalism, and good chemistry. I love working with people who are passionate, innovative, and unafraid to think outside the box.
And of course, if someone wants to collaborate with me, I promise I bring creativity, professionalism, honesty, humor, and probably an iced coffee and a fully color-coded vision board to the table.
