Check Out Kuma Christ’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kuma Christ.

Hi Kuma , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since I was in school I always dreamed of working in the fashion industry. Being a kid from almost no where Texas at the beginning this seemed almost impossible, no one thought what I was trying to achieve was remotely possible. I started selling shoes and clothes locally at age 15/16 as soon as I got a car. I would drive all over the metroplex to either buy or sell pieces of clothing. Fast forward to when I turned 19 I got tired of working a normal 9-5 job and quit to pursue my passion.I started traveling to nyc and making connections with artists and creatives and building a name for myself. I had always had a great relationship with the store Human Dior and grew up shopping with them. One day I received a call from one of my friends at the shop saying they were looking for another member to bring on the team. At that moment everything clicked for me , luckily I got the job with ease and have been able to work side by side with now some of my best friends. I’m eternally grateful for Jon Jon (owner of HD) for bringing me on to the team. After years of building I am now proud to say I have had the pleasure of working with musicians, athletes, & artists from around the world. I specifically love working with artists in the underground hip hop community. Such artists include Osamason, Sixbill, OOdaredevil, Xaviersobased, Slime Sito, and the list goes on. Currently I am still styling multiple clients a week while working on my new accessories line called “Helix” while enjoying a new passion of creative directing for artists.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was for sure not a smooth road, there was many nights and days where it felt like I was the only person that believed in what I was doing. But as long as I believed in what I was doing that was enough for me. Thankfully after putting in the work and building a good name for myself there has been a lot more love.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work as a stylist for multiple artists & creative director. While also working along side my best friends at the store Human Dior in down town Dallas. At human dior I am a manager as well as in charge of artists relations, styling, and networking.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something people might not know about me is that I actually love to cook and recently have planned to drive through the US with my girlfriend site seeing.
