Check Out Laila T’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laila T.

Hi Laila, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
During my last semester of college before graduating, I started modeling part-time. I was able to book shoots in both the East Texas area and Houston after creating a profile on site called Model Mayhem. Three to four months later, I got published on the front/back of a novel that was sold overseas. After that the same publisher, booked me a shoot in Houston for a second front/back cover for another novel he published. Then, before I knew it my part-time became full time and I was on my way!!!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Somewhat. I found very difficult to date based off the photos I take because I chose to become an eye candy glamour model. Judgement is passed without most even try to get to know the real me. Unfortunately, there is a strong stigma placed on overly sexy woman in the industry which placed me in the same realm of video whore/groupie chicks. This could have maybe been avoided or prevented had I chose commercial print instead.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am Professional Published Model. I have been published over a hundred times in over 20-30 different magazines, including 25 covers. Not to mention, three calendars and three novel covers. I am also known as the Trailride Queen!!!!
To be honest, I never saw myself as a model at all. Being only 5’1″, I always felt I was too short to model. But I was so wrong and lucky for that was not the case. The key is to keep going no matter what you feel or fear. You just never KNOW what can happen.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is doing every thing I can to help and aid my Mama through her cancer battle. I grew up and still don’t have my father, so she is really all I have. It’s literally just me and her against the world!!!!
