Check Out Madison Inman’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Inman.

Hi Madison, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After four months of practicing in my house, I accepted my first DJ gig in 2024 — Taco Bout RNB at the Sky Blu Rooftop. In retrospect, all-RNB nights weren’t as prominent around the city. There were only a limited amount of venues and events that catered to that concept, and Taco Bout RNB was among the few. So naturally, I was extremely grateful yet nervous to play a part in such a one-of-a-kind event. This event would go on to build my name in the city of Dallas and solidify the confidence I have in my craft today. I’ve since DJed for over 100+ events including True Colors, Nothing But Anthems, CAYA, Lady Love’s RNB Tuesday, and RNB Basement Party to name a few. The journey of exploring my passion for music and sharing that with the world has been incredible. Though ever journey comes with its ups and downs, I would trade this experience for anything else.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, but what road is? There are certainly instances where the ride seems pretty consistent, and then BOOM, pothole. That’s life, and that concept is especially applicable when pursing a passion projects. You can expect everything you know to be flipped on it’s head and to be constantly challenged. In my opinion, to become a DJ you must know who you are and why you’re doing what you’re doing. I, personally, did a lot of introspection prior to taking this leap, because you can easily lose yourself in the midst of doing most things. In my first year, I struggled with perfectionism and comparison. My second year, I’ve struggled with defining my lane and curating ideas. Truthfully, I will never be obstacle-free, that’s the best part of the journey. It’s the only way you can grow.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a creative in every sense of the word. I collect mediums like infinity stones; I am constantly exploring new ways to create and express myself. Most of my energy is dedicated to being an open-format DJ, TikTok creator, and an abstract artist. However, with time all of these pursuits will naturally spill over into other creative lanes.

I am very proud of my commitment to creativity. It takes a lot of courage to endlessly share a piece of yourself with the world. However, I think that’s what it takes to be a light in this world.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is being able to find fulfillment while also taking care of yourself fully.
