Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Martinez.
Hi Mariana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Hi! My name is Mariana. I was born and raised in Ciudad Juarez chihuahua Mexico. I’m the first born in my family staring and owning a business. I came here in 2002 when I was only 12 years old. I went to school here, I got married here and now I have three beautiful daughters Lizeth, Itzel, and Lyneth. I remember when I was younger, I used to play with makeup, skincare products, etc, maybe this is why I love so much what I do now. So, I started back in 2019. Back then, my name was Lashes by Dream. This name came after dreaming of becoming my own boss, but it was only a dream, I had in me. I remember thinking one night I needed to do something with my life. I honestly hated working for someone else and not be able to see my daughters or spending time with them, but I didn’t have no choice to work does crazy hours until one day I saw a class open for lashes it was $800 dollars for one day! And I remember that was all I had. I was scared to invest in something that I didn’t know if I was going to be good at it but I did it anyways does $800 dollars I invest in that class brought me here but honestly at first my thought was “It just something to stay home with my daughters and have some extra money” I didn’t know it was going to be a whole career for me but God and life had other plans for me. Fast forward two years ago, I rebrand my business to LUX DREAM STUDIO; this coming year I will be 5 years in business, and now I offer more services like LASHES, FACIALS, BROWS, AND FULL BODY WAX, and I also offer 1:1 training, and I’m also now located in 8204 Bedford Euless Rd, suite 501 North Richland Hills, Texas 76180. I know that little girl who used to play with makeup skincare products is so proud of her for taking that leap of faith and trust God.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Honestly no, nobody tells you owning a business is hard, especially without clients and no knowledge on how to handle a business. It’s been a scary process the first couple years, but I wouldn’t change it for anything because now I have the freedom I was looking for.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed esthetician with 5 year of experience doing lashes; before I become an esthetician, I was a lash artist, so I am known for doing lashes and now I am known for doing a full services studio as a skin care specialist, brow artist, and body wax. I am proud of myself for creating a business for myself and be able to wake up every day to do what I love the most.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
That’s a good question. What makes me happy is my family. My family has been my biggest supporters and inspiration in all this. They have seen everything I have done. Specially my daughters. My daughters are the most important people in my life. And, of course, my clients. Without them, Lux Dream Studio wouldn’t be here today.
