Today we’d like to introduce you to Natura Gibson.
Hi Natura, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I come from a family of entrepreneurs and educators, rooted in legacy, leadership, and service. My grandmother was a true pioneer—she opened the first African American-owned funeral home in Ennis, Texas, paving the way for other African Americans, and she also owned a beauty salon. After the passing of my father, the funeral home was later sold, and my sister, Natesha, and I planned on continuing her legacy. I will continue to honor and carry her vision forward, as being part of her legacy is both inspiring and impactful.
I got my start over a decade ago in the mortgage and real estate industry, where I built a strong foundation in understanding the full real estate process from lending to closing. Very early on, I realized I wasn’t just passionate about real estate, but about people, helping them navigate major life decisions and feel supported along the way.
That passion led me into recruiting and leadership, where I spent many years building teams, developing talent, and helping professionals find the right opportunities to grow and succeed. Recruiting gave me the ability to combine strategy with service, and I found my strength in identifying potential and helping others step into it.
I work alongside Brittney, who is not only the broker owner of BK Real Estate but also an incredible mentor and leader. Being part of her vision has been both inspiring and impactful. I also get to work alongside an incredible leadership team that is family, and together we support agents as they build their businesses.
At this point in my career, I’m focused on impact—helping build strong teams, supporting agent growth, and contributing to a brokerage culture rooted in excellence, opportunity, and long-term success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth ride. I was actually supposed to get my real estate license back in 2015, but life happened and shifted everything for me. My aunt, who meant everything to me, passed away from cancer, and that season changed my entire direction. After her passing, there was a lot on my family emotionally, and it took time to really process and regroup.
During that time, I had to learn how to keep moving forward while still dealing with grief and responsibility. There were moments where I had to pause my plans, reset, and really lean on my faith to get through.
Faith, my husband ,my family, and journaling became my foundation. Reading the Bible and Writing things down helped me process what I was going through, stay focused, and eventually find my way back to my goals instead of giving up on them. It also taught me how to rebuild in silence—how to keep going even when nobody is watching and when things don’t feel fully put together yet.
Looking back now, I can see that those difficult seasons shaped my strength and resilience. They taught me patience, perseverance, and how to rebuild when life doesn’t go as planned. Those lessons are a big part of how I show up today in leadership, real estate, and in how I support others through their own journeys.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a wife, mother, realtor, mentor, and leader. My work is rooted in people, purpose, and impact. I’m thankful to God that I’m able to be a blessing to others—being in rooms where I can help people reach their dreams and step into new opportunities is something I don’t take for granted.
I don’t necessarily define myself by a single specialty because my role is bigger than that. It’s about leadership, guidance, and helping others grow in real estate and in life. I’m known for being intentional, relational, and for truly walking alongside people as they build their businesses and careers.
What I’m most proud of is getting my real estate license during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. It was a season of grief, growth, and rebuilding, but I pushed through and stayed committed to what I knew I was called to do.
I’m also grateful for the people God placed in my path along the way. Thank you to Staci for introducing me to Brittney during my darkest season. That connection changed my life and opened doors I needed at the right time.
At my core, I’m proud to be proof that dreams still come true, even in hard seasons—and that you can do it scared, but still do it anyway.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people don’t know that I was actually supposed to get my real estate license back in 2015, but life shifted everything. I lost my aunt to cancer, someone who meant the world to me—and that season deeply impacted my family and my direction. It was one of those moments where everything paused, and I had to learn how to navigate grief, responsibility, and rebuilding all at once.
What most people don’t see is that I didn’t just “bounce back”—I rebuilt slowly, in silence. I leaned heavily on my faith, my family, and journaling just to stay grounded. Writing became my outlet, my clarity, and honestly, my way of surviving and finding my way forward again.
I think what surprises people the most is that I’m not just someone who speaks about resilience—I’ve actually lived the rebuilding process more than once. I learned how to keep showing up even when life didn’t look the way I planned, and how to still pursue purpose in the middle of pain.
Something else people may not know about me is that I’m always striving toward my next goal. I’m very big on words of affirmation and speaking life over myself—because I truly believe you have to believe in you before anyone else will. That mindset has carried me through every season of growth and challenge. Something else people don’t know about me is that I love reading—I’m currently reading The Go-Giver.
So while people see a strong leader today, they don’t always see the seasons that shaped me, the prayers that carried me, and the rebuilding that happened in silence.
