Today we’d like to introduce you to Paisely Torres.
Hi Paisely, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been a nurse since 2017 — I got my degree from UT Arlington and spent the first five years of my career in the ICU. After that, I transitioned into surgical services, working in pre-op and post-op. I loved caring for people, but after years in high-intensity clinical environments, I found myself burnt out and ready for something different. I just didn’t know what that looked like yet. About two years ago, I discovered the National Laser Institute in Dallas, and honestly, it changed everything for me. I had no idea aesthetic nursing was even an option. But the idea of merging medical expertise with beauty — using my clinical skills in a completely different way — immediately clicked. I signed up, took a few courses, and started working at Embrace Beauty Aesthetics in Rowlett, founded by Tessy Mathew, where I’ve continued to learn and grow ever since. Tessy built Embrace Beauty on a mission to provide personalized aesthetic and wellness treatments that enhance natural beauty while building confidence from within — and that vision resonates with me deeply. I think of this work almost like art. People already know how they want to feel on the inside, and my job is to help bring that to life. Together, we’re committed to honest guidance, advanced techniques, and creating an experience that feels both welcoming and professional. Watching someone leave feeling more like themselves is what makes this career so fulfilling.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Breaking into aesthetics as a new injector was harder than I expected. Most places I applied to wanted someone with experience already, which puts you in a tough spot when you’re just starting out. I spent a lot of time in the beginning crafting emails, sending out my CV, and explaining what I wanted to bring to a practice — just hoping someone would give me a chance. Finding someone willing to take me under their wing and invest in my growth felt nearly impossible, until I met Tessy. She believed in me when not many others did, and that opened the door to everything. Even now, about a year into aesthetics, I’m still building my confidence. I think any honest injector will tell you that this field has a real learning curve, and I embrace that. I’m constantly seeking more education, more hands-on experience, and more mentorship.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My focus is on customized injectables — Botox and dermal fillers — tailored to each client’s unique facial anatomy and goals. We also offer PRP for hair restoration, LaseMD Ultra laser resurfacing for skin rejuvenation, and a variety of other aesthetic and wellness services. Every treatment plan is built around the individual, never a one-size-fits-all approach. What sets me apart is my medical background. Coming from the ICU and surgical services, I was trained to prioritize safety above everything else — and I bring that same mindset into aesthetics. If I don’t believe a treatment will truly benefit a client, I’ll say so. I’d rather have an honest conversation and find a better option than just tell someone what they want to hear. I genuinely love caring for people, whether that’s at the bedside or in the treatment room, and my clients feel that. What I’m most proud of is the results and the feedback I receive from my clients. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone’s face light up after a treatment — knowing that what we created together made them feel more confident and more like themselves. That never gets old.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t, that you’re not ready, or that you’re not good enough. I was a burnt out ICU nurse who didn’t even know aesthetic nursing existed two years ago, and here I am today doing work that truly lights me up every single day. The road wasn’t easy, but it was worth every closed door and every unanswered email. Prove everyone wrong by simply doing the work. Keep bettering yourself, keep seeking knowledge, and never stop growing. And through all of it — trust in God and stay humble. Those two things will carry you further than talent ever could. To anyone in the Rowlett and DFW area curious about aesthetics or wellness — come see us at Embrace Beauty. We would love to be a part of your journey and help you look and feel like the best version of yourself.
